Jonathan Groff Alternate for Little Shop |

Extreme sidenote for this, but I had honestly assumed he has left the show so long ago, so it was very odd to see him in Stranger Things and then a few weeks later saying he's leaving DEH.

Let me, once again, point out that the thread name is misleading and the production has NOT announced that he will even have an alternate. It’s mere speculation on a Broadway message board.
Whoops! Ha! Gideon is incredible and so much better in every way. Like they weren't going to bring in someone wonderful for two weeks with these prices and this cast? LOVE THIS CASTING!!!

I had a feeling it was going to be someone special. I am so happy I purchased great tickets for the dates he is going to be there. I am so excited, he has a beautiful voice.

I got to see him and JLT's last day. It was very strange, seeing them in the roles they created, while the rest of the cast was filled with second and third replacements. And now there's even MORE turnover with the tour promotions - I'm surprised and impressed that Alex Boniello has stayed as long as he has, in such an emotionally demanding role.

The prices are somewhat modest, no? I mean, their premium seats are less than a regular priced Broadway ticket.

^ It's a bit expensive for Off Broadway, actually ^

I mean, this is not a usual off-Broadway cast. From the marketing, they seemed to have had the idea to maybe bring this to a Broadway house, but wanted to respect the original show (and/or knew the show works best in a more intimate space). With three names above the title, I feel lucky I got seats under a $100 each honestly.
Why see it w/ Glick when you got Groff...

As several people on here have stated they had no interest in seeing Jonathan at all. Myself included. Gideon is a superior singer, actor, performer in every possible way. That's why.

Gideon is great but I got Groff for this!

Is it? I mean, the prices seem in line with Rock of Ages, with a $119 top price for a regular seat, and $149 premiums.Jersey boys has a top price of $109 with a premium price of $159. I mean, sure, if you compare it to some Off-Broadway, it is pricy, but not among the tier in which it is playing. And, on top of that, they are selling well at those prices, compared to some other shows with discounts, etc.

Stopped by the box office yesterday to get tickets to another show with Glick and the lady at the box office said there's literally two tickets left in the entire run for Groff shows. I suspect the Glick shows will sell out as well given the limited run.

Premium was actually $199 a couple of weeks ago when I bought a ticket (with Groff). It was my only option so I went with it but ouch. Since I’m coming to NY for Moulin Rouge and Hadestown as well this trip is going to destroy my bank account!
An off broadway show (albeit not your typical one) literally just cost me as much as my round trip flight from the Midwest, and the other two will cost far more

That's more an availability issue, no? I mean, I paid $69 for Groff seats and $149 for Glick seats, both side aisles. There were still $119 seats further back for the day I'm seeing Glick, but for $30, I decided to jump up a lot of rows.

Same here. Paid $69 for Groff seats when they first went on sale, but paid $119 for Glick seats yesterday. Should have just bought seats to both Groff and non-Groff shows back then. As it turns out, I'll be seeing Glick first and then Groff on "closing" night.

Goodness, Gideon Glick is perfect casting for Seymour. The casting is an embarrassment of riches. I hope the show extends with a nice run starring Glick, so I don't have to stress about dropping another $100+ so soon already on a show I haven't see yet.
Extremely excited about seeing Groff in the role.
Gideon as Seymour is perfect! As excited as I am for seeing Groff, I do honestly believe that Groff is way too handsome for the role. Gideon is handsome, but has a good look for the role.
