I saw the discussion on Miles2Go's request for advice, but didn't see a thread on the show. The creatives certainly are enticing.

MCC also is dropping several preview videos on YouTube. The article referenced a film concept version - which I didnt see on YouTube, but did find this snippet from 2013:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1XCwtaYho4  (I tried to embed three times)

The creatives behind this are all amazing and I will forever be happy to see Joshua Henry on stage again.  Love the first song, and looking forward to listening to the entire album tomorrow.

There's also a concept album that came out today that is quite good.  I imagine with this team they have Broadway aspirations, maybe CITS

You're right I couldn't embed it either using the youtube link on bww.

I bought a mezz ticket to see Joshua Henry and another mezz ticket to see Ryan Vasquez. Quite excited!

Do they have the under 30 tickets or the discounted front row deal for this show?

The first row seems to be $74. But the first row is labeled C, so I'm guessing A and B were removed for this show. When I saw Alice by Heart, I sat in Row B for $35, and the stage was high. We were able to see okay, but we were looking up the whole time. Row A was rush tickets, and those folks were really straining to see.

The discounted seats for this show are in the mezzanine, and they still have 30 Under 30, but they have to be purchased at the box office.

Broadway chatter is already building....

https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Rialto-Chatter-Is-Ross-Golans-THE-WRONG-MAN-Headed-to-Broadway-20190808

Hate to say I think this is going to flop. The material feels corny, and the creative team has an uneven history. Have nothing against anyone involved, and would especially love to see Josh Henry attached to a successful vehicle, but getting Venice vibes when I play the concept album.

My favorite thing to do is see new musicals Off Broadway. Looking back, most of them weren't very good, admittedly. But once in a while a Fun Home, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, or Hadestown will come along. The possibility of that happening is such a thrill that I don't mind if the odds are against it!

And yes, I did sit through Superhero, This Ain't No Disco, and Joan of Arc: Into the Fire.

For $35, I'll happily take a chance on The Wrong Man.

Very much agree with you in concept, but the past year and change has made me a bit more weary.

I saw all those you mention, plus Alice by Heart, In the Green, and Secret Life of Bees, all of which were major misses for me, despite some commendable elements. I did really like A Strange Loop, but all the time and effort involved at so low a hit rate I found taxing. Hence, why I now tend to wait for some kind of buzz or more substantive preview of the content, like this concept album.

Vasquez’s vocals on the song “Take Off Your Clothes” is worth the price of admission.

I am unsure how this will turn out but I must say I really enjoy the concept album. I’m curious how it will translate to the stage and if they will try to make it more relevant in some way cause right now it feels like it might just be a story where we know the ending from the beginning. I also hope they give the female character some more agency. Either way, with this creative team and cast, I’m excited to see what they do with it.

I love seeing stuff Off-Broadway cause sometimes you get clunkers like Alice By Heart, but then you can strike gold with Octet and A Strange Loop. It’s exciting? And you can almost always find affordable tickets. I think the good stuff Off-Broadway easily revivals Broadway.

For those interested, this is a one act show and the running time is 1 hour and 45/50 minutes.

I'm listening to the concept album now, and two songs in, I absolutely love it. The fusion of hip-hop, rock, and punk, the exciting unpredictable lyrics, this is some of the best new music I've listened to in a while.

FYI - TodayTix is running a flash sale for The Wrong Man right now. $59 ($66.50 after fees) on-stage seating for select performances 9/19-10/6, including 3 dates where Ryan Vasquez will be playing Duran.

This is the cheapest option for stage seating that I’ve seen, as most dates have either premium ($106) or preferred ($76) for on-stage and that only increases after opening. Not a huge discount, but a discount nonetheless.

To me the album sounds like Beck + Mike Posner + Jason Mraz. I have no idea what Joshua Henry is going to sound like singing these songs. I liked it okay, but even on the album, the first person past tense and pop song repetition was a little tiresome. I hope they have advanced under 30 tickets for this show.

Agree with all of the above. Curious to see how it turns out, but not curious enough to buy a ticket until I hear some reports.

Is Joshua Henry doing Sunday matinee performances? Jason is only listed as doing Sunday evening.
