Does anyone know which performances Adrienne Warren's alternate will be going on in TINA?  Was there a set schedule in London?

I heard she’s only doing the evening performances not the matinees. Same scenario as EVITA.

TINA begins performances in 4 days.  Has there been any announcement yet about Adrienne Warren's performance schedule?

No and Ticketmaster doesn’t have any alerts on dates saying she’s not performing, either. Is she definitely not performing 8 times a week? It’s very strange tickets have been on sale this long with no word on this.

I would bet she might do all 8 during previews and then add the alternate after opening night

Per TINA’s website: “Adrienne Warren will perform as Tina Turner Tuesday through Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees. Nkeki Obi-Melekwe will perform as Tina Turner on Wednesday and Saturday matinees. Nkeki Obi-Melekwe will also perform on Sunday, November 24th, December 22nd and June 7th. Due to the nature of live theater, we are unable to guarantee the presence of any particular cast members at a specific show.”

Nkeki Obi-Melekwe is Tina at "Select performances" per the cast release. Id assume Wed Matinees, along with maybe one weekend show.

Thanks for this info! My friends in London told me that Nkeki is the better Tina, so I'm glad I know her dates.

thank you for posting Adrienne's schedule.   I just moved a flight to ensure I see HER (with no offense to her understudy) but I want to see her much buzzed about performance.

So based on what I'm seeing on social, Adrienne was out last night due to her injured ankle, and Kayla Davion made her Tina debut last night.

I'm grabbing stubhub tickets to an evening show tonight, either this or Jagged Little Pill. Do you guys think/have an inkling as to whether or not she'll be on tonight?

I was told by the box office that Adrienne Warren will not be performing tonight (12/19). Asked if I can get my tickets exchanged and was told that it’s final sale. And because 2 actresses share the role she’s part of an ensemble.

Gotcha! I bit the bullet and grabbed Jagged Little Pill from the LTC TKTS booth earlier today anyways. Glad I went with that option, I am sure Tina is a perfectly enjoyable show with or without Adrienne, but all the buzz around her was really what was pushing me to go see it. Hoping to see her next spring, and I absolutely wish her the best in her recovery.

surprised they didn't have Nkeki go on(Tina standby/alternate). Is Warren going to be out for a while?

I was there last night when Kayla Davion went on. She was absolutely incredible. I was a little nervous when I saw the paper that Adrienne was out but Kayla absolutely killed it. A total triple threat, She was an absolute star on that stage. I expect we will see a lot from her in the future. I had previously seen the show in London and I enjoyed it even more this time.

I think Nkekio went on tonight. Haven’t seen her but sure she is fabulous as well.

I saw Kayla as a Dawn understudy at Waitress where she was adorable.  But then she was the understudy at King Kong for the female lead and she was AMAZING. The audience fell in love with her there also.
Also, Kayla has just recently posted on Instagram that she was going to be making her Tina debut on January 25. 2 pm matinee. So this was obviously completely unexpected.

I was at the Wednesday matinee and saw Nkekio as Tina and she absolutely killed it! Totally different performance than Ms. Warren, both brilliant. I think stage management wanted to give Nkekio a breather and made Kayla's debut happen much sooner! I am looking forward to seeing Kayla in January.

Nkekio did perform tonight (Thursday 12/19), according to her IG, Adrienne will be back Friday.

Kayla is super talented, I’m glad she’s had her moment to shine a little earlier than originally planned <3

I do get the disappointment if people don’t get to see Adrienne though, because she’s made that role her own. Saw her in a London and she just blew me away!

I’ll always understand someone being disappointed if the actor they were looking forward to seeing is out  I get it.  It has nothing to do with not appreciating the understudy.  I get that too

But what I don’t get is the hostility you get from some people who have no concept that the actors are people and things come up that you can’t predict all the time.  People get sick, injured, etc  The worst moment I personally remember was this screaming patron who went off on a full two minute rant when Kat  McPhee missed her show the first time she was at Waitress.  The man ended with so please give me one good reason she is not here today.  I said...her father died. He said (no joke) well I’m very sad for her but I spent a lot of money for these tickets so she should be here.  I mean how do you answer people like that?

I saw today's matinee with Ms Obi-Melekwe. I bought tickets to fit my schedule months ago before the performance schedule was announced. I was a bit worried, but I had no need to be! The show was great and her performance was outstanding. Most of the reviews on here poo-pooing the show have been very misleading. I think I enjoyed this show much more than Beautiful, if I were to compare it to another jukebox bio show. The only part that didn't work for me was her confrontation with her mother at the hospital late in the 2nd act, which then used the Mad Max theme song for her mother's death. The show was packed - seemed sold out - & all I heard while leaving was people tell one another, "We've got to come back & see this again!"
This made for a great start to my week!

Also thinking about seeing Mrs Doubtfire in Seattle 2 weeks ago - Tina is polished high art compared to that schlocky show.

Looks like Warren has some additional dates coming up where she'll be out. The weekend of January 24 - 26 plus February 11 & 12. Noticed this when looking at tickets for this winter. Guess that's why some of these dates have $59 tickets available.

"Nkeki Obi-Melekwe will perform as Tina Turner for the matinees on Sunday December 22nd, Sunday December 29th, Sunday January 19th, Sunday January 26th, Sunday February 16th, Sunday May 24th, and Sunday June 7th. Nkeki Obi-Melekwe will also perform the evening performances on Friday January 24th, Saturday January 25th, Tuesday February 11th, and Wednesday February 12th.

Kayla Davion will perform as Tina Turner for the matinees on Saturday January 25th and Wednesday February 12th."

Anyone have an opinion on who does Tina better of the three?

I only ask because my partner has been a lifelong Tina Turner fan and really wants to see this show (which I rarely get, he’s more of an opera fan than theatre), so I would love for him to see the better/more accurate if at all possible. I hear nothing but amazing things for Warren.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

Wow, some people are so consumed by their own entitlement - how can you not have empathy and understanding for an actor whose dad has just died and therefore is obviously gonna miss some shows because of it! And Kat McPhee has proven to be a really reliable performer which makes that attitude even worse!

The times I do have a bit of sympathy for the audience is when star names are heavily advertised and miss loads of shows and you start to wonder whether they’re really sick or not. I remember Dove Cameron missed a quite a few of her Light in the Piazza shows earlier this year in London (and she wasn’t even scheduled to do that many shows) and recently there has been a bit of a furore with the “All Star Les Mis” staged concerts when Alfie Boe (a big star in the uk) missed a ton of shows, and apparently he has a reputation for unreliability.

If they advertise it heavily, then honor a ticket exchange if the lead isn't there.  The house manager said to write to the producer's address on the ticket. No such info on the ticket. I bought my ticket 2 months in advance only to have the top 3 leads out for the night. And no, I don't want to pay for understudies in all 3 leads:Tina, Ike, & child. And no, her understudy was not that good. Even theater workers said to give it another try because Andrienne doesn't scream through it all.

So I attempted to. I went to the box office today to find out Andrienne missed a bunch of shows in the last week or two b/c of an injury to her ankle in one show and then her back in another.  Okay, I get that. But I have a problem w/a show that considers a weekly understudy who performs 3x/week to be equal to the lead. If so, they should have equal billing in the playbill and on the marquee.  Not so.

Box office guy suggested I come back closer to showtime to see if she arrived. I did but a different agent who insisted they are "never told of no shows." I refused to budge insisting her co-worker told me to come back.  She finally got off her duff and asked him. Andrienne was there.

I  considered buying one of their available seats for the 8pm show until a woman behind me with a 8 month old in her "backpack" asked how much a ticket would be for her infant.  I was stunned that she was that stupid and inconsiderate to bring a screaming baby (who was screaming in the lobby) into the theater w/o even considering how it and theater goers would tolerate that for 2.5 hours especially considering the loud music.  I asked the BO attendant if they sold tickets to infants even tho they have a no one under 4 policy.

She shrugged, so I left.

Glad I saved my $.

The team at the Lunt Fontanne is the absolute worst on Broadway. I left a ticket for my friend at the box office—she was running late— and went she arrived to the box office, they denied having a ticket for her. Long story short, she never was allowed in. It took multiple visits and phone calls to the theater to be refunded my money. It was a nightmare!

100% agree about the Lunt's box office staff. The worst on Broadway.
