Charlie just canceled Charlote tour stop |
My coworker just saw the tour in Denver, CO, so as of last weekend, the tour was still operational. I'm still shocked the tour even happened...

"Not sure if there a scheduling issue (which seems odd but that is what they are saying), but they just canceled Charlie from our Charlotte season and added "What the Constitution Means to Me" (a weird substitution for a big family musical, but that's a different story)"
Hard to imagine the Bluementhal Performing Arts Center would have trouble scheduling this show. The season does have family shows like "Frozen", Anastasia" and "My Fair Lady" on the schedule so it is not like there is nothing family oriented. Glad they have "Come From Away" on the schedule which is excellent.

Has it just not been selling well? Didn’t they also put it out on a full production contract. Maybe they should’ve went with a SETA contract.
^When it was here a few months ago, they cancelled a week's worth of performances because it wasn't selling well

This is going to leave A LOT of cities that are subscription based without a show in their season (unless they can find a replacement....).

Yes. The tour is going Non-Eq. I have a friend involved in the Equity tour and he said he last stop is Tampa in October.

I had thought that there was usually some time off after the tour ends to rehearse the new cast and make any modifications to the production itself to scale it back. Are they going to be cancelling more stops later this year?
