With Sondheims 90th coming next March. I was wondering what would be done to commemorate the event. If he got a theatre for his 80th.

I would love to see a handful of his shows revived on broadway. We will already have west side story. And presumably company. I would also love to see assassins revived in time for March.

Any ideas or murmurs of whats going on

Assassins directed by John Doyle will be playing Classic Stage next summer.

I'm assuming we will see birthday celebration concerts again. The Philharmonic went all out for this 80th. City Center's concert was lackluster.

The 80th Birthday Concert for Sondheim, on DVD and Blu-ray is pretty great.

Not in New York, but the Philly POPS will do a few concerts in celebration in April 2020 with Liz Callaway, Fra Fee, and Damian Humbley.

I missed the incredible Philharmonic concert ten years ago, so I'm hoping someone will do another extravagant celebration.

I agree. Though in my fantasy along with company and west side story and assassins. They revive a little night music (with my long dreamed about cate blanchett and Julie Andrews) And Sweeney Todd (maybe in the round ) and into the woods. But I’d also take the follies revival from the national theatre. Or gypsy with Imelda (that’s been so long delayed) or a long awaited revival of a funny thing happened

i would also also love a revival of the philharmonic tribute.  I’d love to see Bernadette Peters, Audra McDonald, Patti Lupone, Barbra Streisand, Angela Lansbury, Len Cariou, Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton, Neil Patrick Harris, Aaron Tveit, Raul Espera, Chita Rivera  all join along with a reprise of that incredible finally of “Sunday “
