Audition song from past role

When choosing an audition, is choosing one from a role youve played before a bad idea? Obviously its a song youd be comfortable with but it seems like its something people dont usually do so I was just wondering

If the song fits the audition requirements and you can't find anything else that fits the bill, I say go for it. Definitely look at other songs first though.
