This is a long shot. Many years ago (late 70's early 80's) I recall watching a televised version of a murder mystery stage play. As I remember it, it is somewhat like Deathtrap. The plot centers around a successful author of children's books. This was years ago, so the story line is hazy. But I distinctly remember one character being killed on stage, hauled off and buried in the woods, only to return in the second act. He was neither dead nor buried deeply enough. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone? Title? Author? Anything.
I was dating a man and his mother disapproved. One day when my lover was out of the country I was in a bad car accident that horribly disfigured my face. My boyfriend's mother said she would pay for my plastic surgery if I promised to move to California and allow her to tell my lover that I had died in the crash. I had no money so I took her up on the offer. The surgery enhanced my looks and my life in California working in an art gallery was rewarding. One day my old lover walked into the gallery not having any idea who I was. He had an immediate attraction to me and I tried to keep my secret as he pursued me.. But as he continued to woo me the truth came out. He no longer speaks to his mother and we are now living in bliss in a nice apartment in LA with out adopted daughter Melissa whom we named after Melissa Manchester.
