I thought I'd create this thread to share reviews and opinions on this year's (2019) movies.

*Please remember to give warning before posting spoliers.

*PSA: All Movies are $6 on Tuesdays at any AMC.

Any memorable films this year? Any favorites? Any shocks? Any flops?

No spoilers, but id say my absolute favorites this year include Us, Endgame, Shazam, Booksmart, Late Night, and Spiderman. Lots of decent films this year however. Cant wait to catch The Farewell, Stuber, and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood later this month.

I have seen nothing memorable but really enjoyed "Endgame", "Spiderman" and "Rocketman". Went to see "Yesterday" last weekend and although the premise is not realistic it as a fun and cute movie with Beatle music that I love. (got a kick out of Ed Sheeran in the movie)

Of the ~60 movies I've seen in theaters so far this year the high points have been:

Apollo 11

Booksmart

Fighting With My Family (mainly because of low expectations)

The Last Black Man in San Francisco

The Mustang

Teen Spirit

US

A movie I was greatly looking forward to, The Woman in the Window starring Amy Adams, has now been delayed to 2020.

I love going to the movies, and thanks to A-List, I go quite frequently. My favorite of 2019 so far was definitely Booksmart. Rocketman and Late Night were also memorable. I cried at Toy Story 4 - I grew up with the movies, and I loved #4.

If you enjoy Kumail and Dave then I totally recommend Stuber. Fun summer comedy imo. Nothing too special but with A list it was certainly more than enjoyable.

Another here who highly, highly recommends The Farewell. Easily one of the best of the year so far for me. Seeing Blinded By The Light this am, hoping to catch Luce and Peanut Butter Falcoln this week.

It’s really been a dreary year for films.  Was surprised how much I enjoyed Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Ready Or Not was brilliantly hilarious and might be the surprise of the year, if you haven’t seen it you must. The Kitchen was also another surprise. Rocket man enjoyable .

Hated Toy Story 4, Yesterday was beyond awful and most of the years films have been forgettable

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

I just feel other than Endgame there hasn't been a lot to make this year really stand out. Not much great, but rather a lot of good which typically doesn't create buzz/box office buzz it needs to. Interested to see how this fall fares with IT, Hustlers, The Goldfinch, Ad Astra, Judy, Joker bringing in the $ probably. Should be an interesting season heading into November.

I have been recommending Blinded By The Light. Made by the same group who did "Bend It Like Beckham". It's an uplifting story of an Pakistani boy growing up in MAggie Thatcher's England and finding a connection to Bruce Springsteen's music. Based on a true story (Greetings From Bury Park, w some liberties to ground out the story) I like how Gurinder Chadha  is able to make the East Indian experience open up for non Indians.

Having a (Primarily) Springsteen score doesn't hurt eitherwink

Brittany Runs a Marathon is really really good, I would say the good reviews are accurate. Same for Hustlers, definitely considering seeing it again!

Brittany Runs A Marathon!!!! Go see it!!! I just got out, wasn't able to go last weekend. Wow, couldn't recommend it enough.

Also, lots of really great films coming out in the next few weeks. Hustlers, Ad Astra, Downton Abbey, Abominable, Judy, Joker, The Lighthouse, Jojo Rabbit, Waves, and honestly a lot more. Gear up everyone!

I just saw Ad Astra this evening and I thought it was painfully boring. Pitt was fine but I don’t really get why there would be any kind of Oscar buzz for him. The visuals and the score was nice but other than that, it was a giant snooze.

I can’t wait to see Brittany Runs A Marathon tomorrow, it looks lovely.

My favorites of the year are Midsommar, Booksmart, Peanut Butter Falcon, Ready or Not and Hustlers.

Has anyone seen The Goldfinch? I found it painfully slow moving and felt the 3 hours running time to be way too long.
