Seems the seatings posts have taken over the preview thread. Looks like this is going to be a big topic, so I started this thread.

How is the seating in the Pit or Can Can section?

We have tickets for my 70th birthday on August 16. Coming in from Texas. We have Orch Row J Seats 14-16.  Are they going to be any good? Thanks for any input.

So I took out that Home Equity Line of Credit and bought two tix, MEZZ C (center), Row C, aisle. I gotta assume (hope) aisle seats in Center Mezz front won't be obstructed.

I snagged center front row mezz a few months ago, and based off what I’ve seen so far, it seems to have been a good decision

Does anyone know which row is the front row for the side orchestra seats? I don't see them selling anything closer than row E.

I’m sitting in the right mezz, row H, seat 10 next weekend. I hope the view won’t be terrible but from pictures I’ve seen so far, the elephant’s trunk blocks a little bit of the stage if you’re sitting on the extreme sides of the right mezzanine. The view looks better from the left mezz, since I don’t think the windmill obstructs anyone’s view.

From center orchestra row P, does anyone know whether the top of the stage/proscenium is blocked by the mezzanine overhang?

I sat in N center orchestra last night. You might see the grand entrance of Satine a few seconds later but other than that you shouldn’t miss anything (from N, I could see everything including said entrance but mezzanine overhang almost perfectly bordered proscenium). They bring her down pretty low to the stage very quickly and before she starts singing if I remember correctly.

There’s actually not much “height” to the actual production. Almost everything takes place center stage, very few risers are used and never more than a few feet. And the ushers will let you walk around before the show starts to get pics. Usher actually mentioned for me to walk up to the mezzanine to get the full view, which I did— it’s quite stunning from up there too.

Enjoy. It’s pure sensory overload in the best way.

I'm not sure from what seat these pics were taken, but I found it them Instagram, and they show the partial view issue from the far side orchestra seats. The father over, the more the platform obstructs:

Alrigjht, I did the pit. If you can afford it do it. You are so close it’s total sensory immersion. You will miss a few things Santine descending some of Danny and the ensemble, but 95% of the show is in front of you and you have the best seat in the house.

I just wish it had been more immersive like Network or Great Comet and they had served us food (for our $400). But the space is very cramped and there seems to be a correlation between people who buy these seats and people who eat really well (historically accurate by the way).

I second your opinion on the worth of the can can seating. I did a little study and of the customer reviews (Boston theatre) and instagram messages both Boston and New York performances the 15 or so all who mentioned the seating loved it.

And for a lucky few Danny Burstein had a bit of a conversation with viewers as Zidler -- a 6 time Tony nominee and it would be a shame if he didn't win for this performance -- can't beat that for added value. Also, in NY Max Clayton, one of the dancers recognizing the instagram sender said how he enjoyed dancing for someone so interested. Also, someone who said he never went to the stage door said he felt so close to the performers that he wanted to spend a little more time with them.

Sorry about the lack of free food but you can get food and drink for your tight little space, right?

At the Box office today, they were selling $99 partial view in the mezz, and I snagged one. C26 is the seat, anybody have any idea what the view is like?

Actually, someone on instagram today mentioned being as close to the elephant as the photo shows. They would have liked it moved a bit back and there were others who were even closer to the animal but said they loved the show and would be back again (I guess to see what they missed on the right side).

Also, like a commenter on this board she found it hot up there and suggested dressing lightly. However, they might fix the problem so figure out both ways to cover unforeseen happenings.

Well, at least the ticket was a bargain. And for your possible next foray go for the lottery if you're able -- it's cheaper and who knows where you'll be-hopefully not next to the Windmill.

I saw the show on Wednesday evening -- Row G, Orchestra Left, second seat from Aisle. Very good view. Aisle seats for E/F/G and maybe even H and I are excellent ( presumably for both Orchestra Left and Right).

The box office told me that there are 12 lotto tix with four Can Cans, and the others are pv mezz...

My friend took a pic from row P (far left, on the aisle i think) at intermission. Now, I'm really embarrassed to ask (no one judge me lol), but how do I insert an image on here? When I click the image icon it asks for a URL.

I had the can can seats at today’s matinee. I wish I shared the same sentiments on the can can seating. Certainly the show is in your face and you have sensory overload. However, too much of the show is missed when the actors are on the sides and behind you. I wish I did sit back.

I’m sitting somewhere all the way in back of Mezz. I paid like $110 total with the pre-sale that happened a few months ago. I’ve noticed that there’s a few partial view seats in the Orch that opened up and it’s only $70 or $80 to move my seat. Do you think it’s worth it? I’m just concerned that sitting back row in Mezz I’m going to miss some stuff especially on the part of the stage that comes out to the audience
