I sincerely hope you can understand the difference in feeling icky because someone is a Disney villain and feeling icky because you're seeing a metaphor for centuries of racial tension and disrespect played out on screen.

I do understand the difference. What I mean is that if one chooses to read the film with that subtext, then it is a good thing that the movie is portraying Ursula and her acts as truly evil and negative.

Might this be an opportunity to hold a mirror up to humanity then? Not that it would be overt, but the metaphor might teach a positive lesson to some.
Of course, this is years away so we'll have to wait and see.
In any case, I'm thrilled for Halle. I've seen her open for Beyonce several times. She and her sister are the real deal.

I know she seems a bit young but if I can't have Titus, What about Amber Riley?
Could get a bit of a Mean Girls vibe ( like she's Triton's bastard daughter raised outside of the palace. and wants her revenge on all of them who were! BwAh ha ha!)
