That was quick!

Betrayal was an acclaimed revival with some
Big-name stars, so a Broadway transfer was inevitable, but this must be a record - It closed in the West End only a few weeks ago...

Between this, Hadestown having its Pre-Broadway tryouts in London, and Girl From The North Country having a third London run before it gets to Broadway, I think that the transfers between the West End and Broadway are getting faster...

That's true, but for a Pinter play that feels VERY soon. That being said, hopefully it'll erase the memory of the last revival which was, to put it mildly, tepid.

I will say that it had the largest stage door crowd I have ever seen for a play in London. 200-300 fans (mostly teenage girls) waiting every night for Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Cox!

Yeah i saw the stage door as well and was shocked how crowded it was. But the guy at the theatre told me they all always sign and took pics with everyone. I think that’s pretty cool of them.

Hiddleston's blazing firy adequacy as an actor will make this one of the most easily skippable productions to slither out of the West End in a long time.

Not really. Zawe and Charlie walked the line and took pictures with/signed for everyone that wanted them to. Tom stood in the front and people had to walk up to him. He took pictures and signed for maybe 30 people on the average per performance, mostly 10-15 minutes max. It was madness. People left 10 minutes before the end of the play to be first in line (they checked tickets, people who didn’t see the show that particular night were not allowed to line up). The theatre tried to control the early leavers but never quite managed it until the end...

However the play was amazing and I would love to see it again. But I’ve just been to New York and coming back from Europe on such a short notice would be horribly expensive and very difficult... Damn...

The Jamie Lloyd Company production of Betrayal is produced on Broadway by Ambassador Theatre Group, Benjamin Lowy Productions, Glass Half Full Productions, and Gavin Kalin Productions.

Oh, gosh. Is it WAY too soon for another revival, or was the last one just a total dud? I can't quite work up any enthusiasm for this in spite of the rave reviews in London.
