What are your thoughts on Andrew Garfield? Too bad it can't be Raul.

The character is supposed to be 30.

Can Garfield sing this score? It’s pretty challenging.

I have found one video of him singing. He's the wrong choice for this role. I understand they need a name, but there are so many very famous names that can actually sing.

You make a good point. I had forgotten the age of the character. I though Esparza was fabulous when he did it Off Broadway. My, time has flown. That must have been 15 or 20 years ago. And then when Lin did it at City Center it was hard to sit through because he did not have the pipes. I do think it is great that Netflix is open to filming Broadway musicals! Given the age considerations I wonder about Mr. Groff and the actress who was in The Last 5 Years film adaptation. I also wonder about Jeremy Jordon. I just cast the film! I love the show and it seems it could be done on a smaller budget than most.

Jonathan Groff, Anna Kendrick, and Jeremy Jordan? That's a pretty...white cast.

I want John Gallagher, Jr. in this so badly. Can Tessa Thompson or Gina Rodriguez sing? They would both be great as Susan. This is probably my all time favorite show, i’m so excited for this!!

Last I checked, Jonathan Larson and many of his friends were pretty white people. It is (semi-)autobiographical.

Yes, all white people, in a 3 person cast, the horror.  Most theater actors on Broadway are, in fact, white.  It also would make sense given Jonathan Larson's personal life.

Jeremy Jordan is PERFECT and unlike Andrew, he can actually sing. Jonathan Groff would be excellent, as well as Katharine McPhee.

This whole thing sounds like the fantasy of a Stan that bizarrely came true.

John Gallagher, Jr. is my favorite suggestion so far. He'd be perfect.

Michael is always played by a person of color and that will be the case for this film as well.

John Gallagher, Jr. would be fantastic.

I was thinking about Aaron Tveit but some might consider him as too old. Lin seems to be following Ryan Murphy's footsteps.

Lin may want to use a non white cast all together.
