I saw To Kill a Mockingbird this past Saturday matinee, and I was a little bummed to see that Celia Keenan-Bolger was not on. I was very quickly reaffirmed when her understudy Baize Buzan stepped on stage. Her portrayal of Scout was one that I won’t soon forget. I was able to talk to her after the show and let her know how fantastic she was and she told me that it was her first time going on as Scout. This led to me to wonder, has Jeff Daniels or anyone else missed a performance yet?
The night I went La Tanya Richardson Jackson was out and her understudy Shona Tucker was great. But in general I think the TKAM cast has excellent attendance. I know Stark Sands missed a show to attend the final performance of Kinky Boots but that's it.
