Glad this production is having further life, but The Savoy seems far too large for this intimate, minimalistic production.

I hope to goodness they film this.

I bet BroadwayHD is already working on it.

I’d rather they make a movie.

I can only imagine. Besides the response it would get (awards or not), it's a major vehicle for Gyllenhaal and Ashford so long as they keep her onboard and don't pull a My Fair Lady-Mary Poppins like they did with Julie Andrews. lol.

BroadwayHD is useless. They’ve filmed two shows themselves in what, 5 years? Their catalog is made up of shows filmed by other people with only a few actual “Broadway” shows.

If anything it will be filmed by another company (Universal paid for “Gypsy”, if I’m not mistaken) and then BroadwayHD will stream it eventually.

I knew we hadn’t seen the end of this lovely production. A film would be absolutely wonderful.
Jake clearly had the time of his life doing this production, and Annaleigh is the perfect match.

Also. I love that it seems the West End and Broadway will be swapping their productions of Company and Sunday at the same time. That’s assuming Company will be transferring next spring.

I think Jake G is one of the most interesting actors of his generation, but he’s poison at the Hollywood Box Office. He hasn’t made a profitable movie in 4 years. That’ll change with Spider Man: Far From The Home I Love, but I don’t think it will be a *career* boost for him. A feature film of SUNDAY would, financially, be a disaster.

I hope he keeps coming back to theatre (where he is proving to be a Box Office draw).

We’re referring to a filmed version of the West End production.
An actual feature film of Sunday was rumored years ago, but obviously never came to fruition. Box office aside, Jake or Bradley Cooper would be a marvelous choice for a Hollywood film of the musical.

Many of Jake's projects are independent films. They generally do not make as much at the box office so I think it is overreaching to say he is box office poison.

I think it's safe to say he's this generations Joan Crawford. #BOPoison

I'm sure there's a Millard Pierce in his future.

The article say that the Broadway production didn't play long enough to merit Tony nominations, but I thought that the producers decided to not put themselves in contention?

Anyway, I'm excited at the possibility of the show and its leads in the running for the Oliviers.

You’re right. It was eligible for Tonys but the producers opted not to be in contention so they wouldn’t have to give away over 800 tickets to Tony voters. It was a smart decision since the production recouped its investment.

Oh man. I am so tempted to book a trip to London next summer to see this again.  One of my all time favourite shows I’ve seen. Who would have thought we’d get an opportunity for a repeat?  Will wait and see who else joins the cast.

It's been 6 years since Joaquin Phoenix had a decent box office (Her, 2013), and Adam Driver's only success are in Star Wars franchise and the rare auteur hit (Spike Lee). Neither elicits strong distaste on BWW if/when being cast in a filmed musical, such as Driver in Leo Carax's "Annette" with Cotillard.

The directing was a little clunky at City Center but perhaps it improved at the Hudson.

I didn’t find the product to be all that interesting or either of them to be all that distinct. I didn’t think it suited Ashford’s voice.

I agree that I thought Ashford was completely miscast in this role and don’t understand the praise she received.
