DeGarmo and Young to lead FIRST DATE national tour

From Broadway News/Broadway Briefing: American Idol contestants Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young will headline the First National Tour of the musical First Date. The tour launches fall of 2020. Tour route and additional cast will be announced at a later time.

I have to say, I enjoyed the Broadway production. Can’t say I’ll see this, but it was fun enough, if incredibly generic.

It's a cute show. I just hope they tour to smaller houses. I remember seeing them in Joseph in a practically empty balcony and it was a little disheartening.

This seems so random, but I liked the show on Broadway. Any idea if it's the original design/direction?

I'm curious to know the creative team as well. According to Playbill Matt DiCarlo is directing so it probably won't be a remounting of the Broadway production. Anyone know which touring company is involved or producing?

A fun/light evening at the theater. I really wanted to see Rodriguez more than Levi. When it was announced the the original actor from the pre-Broadway production would step in for Levi, while he was out for a few days for a prior obligation, I grabbed a ticket. He was as good as I heard he was. I enjoyed the story and the music was fun. It was actually much better than I expected.
