Both Patrick and Andre were great.  I saw the NYTWS off-broadway version and love Chris Sullivan as Hermes.  I feared that I would be let down once I heard he wasn't in it (since he has tv commitments).  Andre's performance was so different and so nuanced - he truly made the role his own and I loved it.

Ali seems like a lovely person and is talented, but I think Amber deserved it more. It was a snub IMO.

BOM said: "Good try, but your profile pic is of the worst show that opened this season."

My amazing profile pic is the hilarious cake from a King Kong event, and how it looks nothing like Kong. It's a joke. King Kong won a Tony though so.....you clearly are thinking of Be More Chill.

You have exposed yourself as ignorant regarding your view on Ali, so that's enough for me.  And the Broadway community doesn't want anyone around who clearly has serious problems with people with disabilities. Officially canceled.  Bye!

Do some of you know what 'snub' actually means?    Someone not winning an award (and I was rooting for Amber quite loudly) is not automatically a snub.

Pose2 - I'm not a fan of what BOM said about Ali, either - but in your entire back and forth with him you aren't doing yourself any favors.  <<edited by mod to remove personal attack>>

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I was surprised that The Ferryman won costumes (not that they weren't great costumes for the play, but you don't usually see "street clothes" with the Tony)... and personally I think Beth Leavel should've won, but otherwise nothing really surprised me.

I was happy to see Ain't Too Proud take choreography because it's just so nonstop (and flawlessly executed) through that whole production, even though I had Kiss Me Kate taking it on my ballot.

And re: set design of a musical, I think all five were exceptional designs. I was actually pulling for King Kong here, because while I can't say I loved the show as a whole musical, I thought it was a technical masterpiece. But any of those five could've won and I would say it was justified.

My only "snubs" were for both Beth Leavel and Eva Nobledaza/Patrick Page/Amber Grey that they didn't really get to perform, but there's no way to include absolutely everybody, so it is what it is. As a whole, I thought it was an excellent Tonys.

Incorrect. I am defending Ali Stroker's win, and if you have an issue with that, take it up with BOM or scroll right past it.  Your opinion of me is not wanted.

I find the arguing over whether Stroker being in a wheelchair affected her votes to be really ugly. She gave a great performance. I also thought Gray's was even better and would have given it to her, but I also thought the other four nominees in Featured Actor in a Play were better than Carvel (it was a VERY strong category this year), and I'm able to express that without putting Carvel down.

Have your opinions. Root for who you want to root for. But try not to be ugly about it. Jeez.

Totally agree with Sauja.  You can post opinions (even strong ones) without having to be ugly or vitriolic.  Broadway performers and creative team members work very hard.  Even if their performance does not succeed, it is wrong to diminish them by ugliness.
