Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

In my rankings of the nominees, I have The Prom as the runner-up in Best Musical, Best Actor/Actress, and Book, so I’m excited to see how those will end up tonight
I think tonight will be a very interesting show. I feel as though there are very few categories that are "locks". Sure, there are many frontrunners but very few that are so far ahead that an upset isn't possible. And then we have categories like Featured Actress in a Musical which in my opinion is literally a 50/50, and featured actor in a play which could go to literally any of the 5 in my opinion.

That would make me very happy. If nothing else, The Prom deserves Best Choreographed Curtain Call. If they'd perform that on the show tonight, I bet they'd sell lots of tickets.
Has a musical ever won Best Musical, and nothing else? That's only happened 3 times at the Oscars, and it hasn't happened this century at the Tonys, at least. I'll be pretty upset if Prom wins Musical and nothing else - how is the best musical not also at least one of the best score, book, performers, or tech?
Also rooting for The Prom!!! As much as I love Hadestown, The Prom is a really special show that deserves to be recognized. Also, the marketing of Hadestown has sorta put the message out there that they are the best musical ever and no one can touch it and I just think that doesn't make me want to support them if they have that mentality (producers)
I'm not rooting for The Prom. It's sweet, but not particularly good. I can't imagine it taking Best Musical. I think that category is basically a lock for Hadestown. I could see The Prom taking book, however.
The only upset that I'm truly hoping for is that Brandon Uranowitz will win for Burn This. I'm also hoping something other than The Cher Show wins best costumes because most of those costumes weren't even exclusive to the show and shouldn't have even been eligible. I also wouldn't be mad if Damon Daunno won for lead actor in a musical or if Constitution won Best Play.
I;m hoping for an upset in Best Play. I was one of those who just didn't enjoy The Ferryman as much as I thought I would. I thought the third act was insufferable and interminable.

Well of course they're pushing the show like that, and it's working for ticket sales. How else should the producers push their show? "Eh, it's ok, I guess. Idk come and see it if you want." I don't think that would bring the money to the bank. It's a bit ridiculous that you shouldn't support a show because it's promoting itself.

I totally agree. I'd be rooting for Mockingbird, but it appears that the Tonys have decided to pick a war with Scott Rudin and the Mockingbird team instead of actually awarding good work. Absolutely ridiculous and it hurts the credibility of the committee.

Hadestown is the best Broadway musical in recent memory

It would be different if they're the only ones claiming it, but there are lots of articles and others (aside from its producers) claiming that it's the best musical of the season as well. Anyway, I'm rooting for Hadestown to take top honors as well as director. I'd be happy to see The Prom winning in other categories, though.
I too would love to see Brandon Uranowitz win for his beautiful and funny work in Burn This. Or a surprise win for Robin de Jesus. That award will probably go to Bertie Carvel, who was fine in an underdeveloped role.
i think Ali is favorite as per Theater Talk tony prediction show although as Jesse Green said Amber Grey is terrific and the “emotional heart” of Hadestown...I’m happy with either winning.
I hope for upset in Best Play.
Also hope Boys in the Band pulls it out for best play revival in “too close to call” race as per Paulson/NYT

I don't get why so many people want The Prom to upset. Its so... mechanical and cliched for the stories we Queer people are allowed to have, complete with the straight lead character who is inspired by the Saint Gays. The show would be infinitely better without Dee Dee and if Emma had some real flaws of her own to overcome. But, as is usual, a queer story needs to have a straight lead... for sales... Its not as bad as a story of the AIDs crisis being fronted by 2 straight men who are moderately upset at... gentrification... which is caused by the hard working black man... blech... but I thought after Fun Home got the tony... it meant we could be the main characters of our own story. We deserve that dignity. And the score was... typical...
I have noticed that the largest publications like the Times have been trying to push for a Prom win, and pretending a show as anti-Capitalist as Hadestown has no message, and that also makes me want Hadestown to win big.
The only upsets I am really rooting for is Ain't Too Proud for Best Book and Damon Daunno for Best Actor, though that is going to go to Santino for... I guess for dancing in heels... I just didn't like Tootsie. And I cannot remember any of the music. It actually bothers me that I can't remember the music, I try to recall Unstoppable and can't think of any tune other than Impossible from Cinderella. And I remember songs. I saw a production of Windy City 15 years ago and remember songs from it.

okay this is just silly. it’s a wonderful show, why would they want the marketing to suggest otherwise?
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."

Ok, why did you read my mind and take the words out of my mouth? I agree, 100%.
