"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Which part? The poor writing? The amount of "allegedly's" strewn about? The slander? It's interesting that when these EXACT issues also occurred during James' time in Lion King or Little Dancer (at the Kennedy Center), they were not racial matters. Yet, there's one common denominator..

I've worked with this guy, James Pierce III, on other shows.  He is the problem.

"This is troubling."  You forgot "deeply" - if you want that cliche to be complete, please add it.  If I never hear the word "troubling" or the words "deeply troubling" it will be too soon.

The Anastasia cast seems pretty close based on Christy's livestreams and their continued social media interactions to this day. I don't think I've ever seen James interacting with them outside the show. To me, that's pretty telling.

I feel like there is more to this story and we are only getting one side of it.

1) How anyone appears on social media is almost always completely fake and often times things like livestreams are pre-determined by GM/advertising agencies and are very much forced.
"

I would normally agree with this but I'm pretty sure Christy was doing livestreams on her own(with approval of course). She actually still does them just not as frequently right now. I've also met her several times and she is extremely genuine.

I can attest to this. I've spoken to her more times than I can begin to count, not always within the confines of the show (talked to her on the phone last week in fact), and what you see is what you get with her. She's a genuine person, and there is nothing fake about her.

This was also the guy that broke the Tyce Green story and while the police investigated that and found it baseless, Green definitely is not the presence he once was. Green also admitted to having poor judgment and apologized. In this climate, you better have the goods to back up a story- maybe that’s why the blog is littered with so many allegedly(s). Also, I think it’s pretty unreasonable to travel to Philly for a haircut because no one can do it right- this is New York, there are barbers here that can handle all types of hair. They may not have worked for the show, but to be reimbursed for travel to Philly from a show in NYC does seem to be an unrealistic expectation, and speaks to this person’s character.

I didn't read that he was expecting (or that he got) the show to reimburse him for traveling to Philly to get his haircut? Just that he finally got the ok to not have to use the show's hair person, after two failed show hair people, and was allowed to do it with his own person when he was in Philly.

Not using a show's go-to hair person because they're unfamiliar with the needs of African American hair seems like a totally legit complaint. But wanting to go to Philadelphia for a haircut seems...excessive. Haircare and styling is an incredibly complex and weighted topic of conversation in the African American community, so I don't want to put my foot in it here, but are you seriously telling me this guy had to go outside not just New York freakin city but the tri-state area to find a barber?

It's pretty absurd for a Black man to feel he has to travel all the way to Philly to get a haircut; Manhattan and Brooklyn alone are FULL of great barbers that specialize in Black hair.

This specious little site posted this on Facebook.  Every single response believes every single "allegedly" without question.  Every single response.  No need to hear another side to this story for these morally righteous, faux outraged people.

Why not bring it to the Union’s attention while it was happening?

And the haircut thing is stupid.

This is extraordinarily one-sided, and dear god, horribly written. I appreciate the reporting effort WOS, but yikes please get a copy editor.

Wish we had gotten a perspective from other members of the cast. I believe James felt uncomfortable at work, and that is awful and unfair. Every story has two sides though.

No, people should hear both sides of the story.  And why didn't he just go to AEA and file his complaint?  He talks and talks - AEA gave him several options and scenarios - and he kept saying, "I want to file a complaint, but no one got back to me."  Well, pick your butt up and go over there and fill it out.  It's not brain surgery.  His complaints are one side of the story.  You believe him without question - that's both peachy and very today.  I don't make judgments  until I hear all sides of a story.  Keep trying, though.

For the record, filing a grievance against another Equity member does not entail walking to the office and filling out a form.

NOWHERE in my post did I say I believe him (nor did I say,  without irony,  that I disbelieve him). However, here you claim not to make judgments,  when you clearly outlined your judgments in this and the previous post.
