My local theater (Fisher theater in detroit) does not have boosters. My youngest is going to a show with us this fall and will need something. Anyone have any recs for a small booster that we could bring in with us for this purpose?

When I was younger and shorter back in the 90s, my parents would pile their jackets and my jacket on my seat and have me sit on that 'booster seat' when seeing a show. I know it sounds odd but it worked!

Nowadays I think a small travel pillow or even a self-inflating cushion may work. I have a friend who is OCD with being clean all the time that she brings a self-inflating travel cushion with her eveywhere and even uses it at the theater on Broadway (as she once told me, you never know how often they clean the cushioned seats or if someone accidentally peed on there, etc.)

We have done the coat piling thing with my older kid but its probably going to be warm when we are there, so doubt we will have big jackets. A travel pillow is a good idea!

Get an inflatable booster like BubbleBums. Easy to carry around deflated, and you can blow them up in just a few seconds.

An adult with a booster seat in the Theatre is asking for trouble from the nice person behind them. What is that person doing in the Theatre anyway?  There are Actors there and who knows where they have been,

I would take a plastic cushion similar to one that is used on outdoor furniture. That is more or less what they use on Broadway except they usually are black which is neither here no there.

I was thinking along these lines but wasn't sure if there was anything made specifically for this. I will also look into the bubblebums.
