Watching the Tonys in San Fran?#1

I usually lurk here but I have a question someone might be able to help with...

I'm a NY'er but will be in the Bay Area for work on Sunday. Is there any way to watch the Tony Awards live on the West Coast? I don't believe they are aired live out there?

Anyone have any sly computer way to watch... ? Or know of a place in SF that airs them live?

Thanks!

I'm in the Bay Area myself. I'm not aware of any local parties, alas. (Admittedly I also like cheap alcohol and not leaving the house).

I typically buy a CBS All Access subscription right before the Tonys. You can probably find a free trial code.

Once you're subscribed, there's an option to see Local TV. Unfortunately this will pick up on your west coast location, where unfortunately the Tonys aren't aired live (boo). To get around this I subscribe to a VPN service (I personally use Tunnel Bear), which will let you change your location.

The whole thing comes to about $20 total, which is well worth IMO to watch the Tonys live and (mostly) legally.

There are a lot of YouTube channels where people stream live TV. They are being shut down all the time, and shows removed all the time, but it is pretty persistent. Like there are always 2-3 channels showing The View live every day. But not really a solid plan to have in advance...

I actually spend 4 weeks a year out there and I never know what to call it when talking to people in NY!  I feel like they might not know what I'm talking about it if I just type SF!

ooooh, i'm actually already 1/2 way there with this solution.  i already have a VPN service so i'd just need to get CBS all access.  thanks so much -- didn't know that was a possibility!

I agree that no one ever calls it San Fran, or God forbid, 'Frisco *shudders*

"The City" and "SF" are the most common. But it's also common for the locals to just call it, well, San Francisco Watching the Tonys in San Fran?
