Bernie was toast a month ago but I'm so glad he did the right thing. Such a shame his delusional supporters will still complain and threaten to not vote. Pathetic. Go Joe!

No comment -lol. See you can teach old guy new things - ha ha. Stay safe.
I wanted to think things would be different this year (compared to 2016), but social media is already proving me wrong. One relatively close friend posted she is devastated that Sanders has ended his campaign. Fair enough. But then goes on to say that he didn’t win the nomination because not enough Americans truly value equality yet. Pretty big generalization and a slap in the face to those of us who simply preferred another candidate for reasons I won’t elaborate again on here. Kinda glad my trip to NYC with her in June was just officially cancelled after the Broadway announcement this morning. I’d hate for her to have to hang out with someone who “doesn’t truly value equality.” At least she says she’ll still vote for Biden in November.
And then all those using this as an occasion to bash the DNC as “the enemy.” Luckily, none of those (so far) are my friends, but rather friends of friends on Facebook.
Things are in turmoil enough right now. Just when I thought I couldn’t feel worse, I do...
I hope AOC runs against whoever Biden’s VP is in 2028. Bernie may be out, but the progressive movement is still strong, and I’m proud of that.

Michelle Caruso-Cabrera? Wow, there's a person I haven't missed on CNBC AT ALL. Would always talk over every guest she interviewed after gving them about 2 seconds to answer her question. Not a huge fan of AOC and her politics either. AOC is certainly a master of social media and a publicity generating machine though still not sure how much actual depth is really there but damn, if she can't bury Caruso-Cabrera, I'd be shocked. Caruso-Cabrera always came across as the ultimate corporate apologist, big companies can do no wrong, 1% type. Just by her comments over the many years i watched her, she never seemed to have any feel for what the average person's life was like who wasn't pulling in eight figures running a bank or an investment firm. I'm actually shocked she's a Democrat. Would have bet for sure she was a right winger. With the current popularity of the anti big business message, if AOC can't even keep her own seat against an openly pro-business candidate, it sure doesn't say much for her ability to take the torch from Bernie as the face of the Progressive "revolution". One of the rare times, I'll be pulling for AOC.
In his first interview after dropping out, Sanders "stops short" of endorsing Biden. Really? You are not going to be President, Bernie. You are largely responsible for that fool being the current occupant of the Oval Office, and it looks like you're trying to do the same thing now. Stop being a jerk.
Now that Bernie is done Campaigning, I’ll be pushing for Shahid Buttar against Nancy Pelosi in November. Hope more San Franciscans start supporting Shahid.

And Biden doesn't have a role to try and win his own supporters through looking at his own policies and ideas? The USA is the most conservative Western nation in the world - Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden would be running for conservative parties in any other nation and Sanders supporters clearly see this. Replacing one conservative with dementia with another conservative with dementia may not feel like a terribly exciting prospect for many.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I’ll be interested to see what these task forces are, specifically and how they’ll be able to bridge the gap between Biden’s camp and bernies camp. I don’t think this endorsement will help Biden bring progressives over immediately. He still has a lot to prove, but at least he’s trying.

The 2/3 of the state governments that are run by executive and both houses of the legislators are making sure that it will be hard to vote for poor people. I can't imagine the permanent damage will be to the world's future with four more years of Dump.

My fear even with Bernie's endorsement is that not enough of his "Bernie Bros" will vote. Similar to 2016. He's gotta keep pushing for his supporters to get out and vote blue.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I just want Biden to come out in support of M4A. If he can't do that, he has no chance in picking up the progressive vote. I'm sick of his "I see you" and "I hear you" dialogue. If you see us and hear us, then help us.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but it's my understanding that insurance is state-business. I'm not opposed to a Medicare-for-Those-Who-Want-It administered at the federal level but question the source of federal authority to usurp the power of state regulators. I'm still not seeing any real willingness on the part of a few key red states to give up the insurance cash cow. And not one of the states from one of the most populus like NY to the nearly least like VT has been able to pull off single-payer within its own borders. I guess what I'm getting at is: (1) where is a realistic projection of the costs to implement M4A nationwide, (2) would the Dem-controlled House be able to get the GOP-led Senate to do more than offer lip service, and (3) would our forcing Biden to commit to M4A now well in advance of the election end up relegating him to the dustbin of history alongside Bernie come Nov??? Even with an opponent as unpopular as Trump, Biden can ill-afford to take an untenable position like Elizabeth Warren did during her primary run.
@javero, very well stated and fact-based. It saved me from my own post that wouldn’t have been as well-written and would’ve just been me venting my frustrations. Thank you!
