IBDB - Internet Broadway Database has a new look |
It looks good. They'll probably need to work out a few of the technical kinks, but the design is nice. I also like that headshots look like they will be a more common thing, similar to IMDB.

Definitely much needed! That old design was at least 15 years old

It's actually legible on my phone now!
I'm not a fan. There's definitely a learning curve, but it feels too over-designed. I liked the simple design of the original, this is just hard to find info. Maybe I'll warm up to it, who knows.

Has Playbill Vault made IBDB obsolete?
Has IBDB always been connected to the Broadway League? It's a nice design, but I'll be honest, I prefer the quick and easy original site.

IBDB has always been easier to navigate. Playbill Vault typically is better with updating cast lists though, especially ensemble & swings.

Yes, the Broadway League has always owned IBDB.
I still wish they had downloadable information from pages and searches. Would be much better for stats/data purposes.
One of the bigger changes is that Awards on a person's page used to be chronological by year. Now, all the Tonys are together, then all the Drama Desks, etc.

My primary browser is Safari (v 12.1.1) and my OS is up to date (Mojave 10.14.5) and I can not get the search to give me any results no matter what I try. It seems like it doesn't even register me pushing enter after typing in the results, whether I hit the return key or physically click the little magnifying glass button in their search bar. It works if I switch over to Chrome, but I have no desire to switch browsers just for one site.
