Hey guys! I’m going to be in town May 27 - June 1 and am trying to figure out what to see. So far, I’m seeing Secret Life of Bees and am very excited. Wish I could see Octet but it’s sold out. Any other suggestions? Specifically looking for some thought- provoking incredibly acted pieces. None of the big shows are really sparking my interest at the moment. Maybe Ferryman? Are there any must see shows right now? Open to plays or musicals. Thanks guys!
You are correct in thinking that The Ferryman would be a good show to see. It is STELLAR, one of the best pieces of theatre I've ever seen. Like everyone else says, Hadestown is a must-see. The music is unique and the whole show is like nothing else on Broadway at the moment.
The Ferryman is a fantastic piece of theater - one of the best plays I've seen. Highly recommend. Haven't seen Hadestown yet myself but all accounts from friends have been positive.
Cool, thanks guys! Will definitely check out Ferryman. Is Hadestown worth the near $200 stubhub ticket that it looks like I’d have to get at this point? A bit more then I’d normally pay, but is it really that stunning? Thanks again!
I have not seen it, but I think you'll get mixed opinions on that. As someone who seems to enjoy the same shows you do, that price for Hadestown couldn't seem less worth it. Music seems good, but doesn't sound like theres much of a story at all. Is mostly about the staging. The Ferryman is exhilarating theatre that Im not sure Ill ever see again. Of course though, this is just all my opinion.
