Hadestown New Tix On Sale |
At least their pricing seems to be a little bit more consistent now. I still can't believe they are charging $249 for a standard ticket on a weeekday though.
399 plus fees for a Tuesday night for front orchestra- but I really wanted to see this one- so what the hell?- but believe me- I am not happy about the prices- at these prices- I better enjoy it-lol!
I've been waiting for October to go onsale for MONTHS! Normally I check every morning but this morning I just happened to be focused on getting Hamilton tickets for Kansas City with that onsale, and completely forgot to check Hadestown. But, even being late, I got third row center for the date we wanted, so I'm stoked! That completes the trip unless Oklahoma! somehow extends! Then I'll be figuring out a way to see it despite having most of my blocks booked...

I totally went and looked at that after posting! Man, now I have to either gamble and go for a ticket the night I get in and hope I don't get my usual travel migraine, or skip a fun, smaller event with my crew Saturday night. I was almost hoping they wouldn't extend so I wouldn't be faced with this decision, haha.
These prices were rough, lol. Glad to finally have the tickets though - and that there was actually a Sunday evening performance available for our dates, so now we've got the whole of Sunday free to either see another show or do any number of non-theater related activities that weekend. We've got Moulin Rouge and Tootsie the day before, so no sightseeing that day!

So glad I got to see this downtown Off-Broadway before these insane prices. Plus, from what I saw of the Today Show number, equally glad I got to see Chris Sullivan as Hermes. I usually like Andre deShields but I didn't care for his characterization in that admittedly brief performance.

You must see it on BWAY...the experience is totally different as downtown felt just like a concert. Its been beautifully crafted in a visually stunning show and the majesty of DeShields' story telling...he commands the stage with an authoritative swagger~ he's having so much fun on stage...you can't keep your eyes off of him.
DeShields does not disappoint! Go see it!
He deserves the TONY and I do hope he wins it.
