Morissey at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre |
First, it’s Morrissey and yes... I saw his show. It’s basically a Greatest Hits show with filler. His standard band onstage and no intimate storytelling like Bruce Springsteen did. It’s just a Morrisey concert in a super intimate theatre, nothing more. He tends to change his set list nightly so he might just change up the filler songs.
Has anyone seen Morrissey? I'm trying to find out what time he will go on and how long he will play.
Thanks!

I saw him on Friday. He goes onstage at about 830 PM and plays for two hours. Don't miss it. Great seats drop in price closer to performance time on Ticketmaster.
I wasn’t very familiar with Morrissey’s music, but I dug it and thought he was a great performer. Very thoughtful projections- loved the yellow vests and the French flag lighting cues.
The people in front of me stood the entire show, so I just gave into it and stood and danced too. I’ll definitely be checking out his discography after this. Had a good time, but clearly not as good a time as the rainbowhighs who lived up to their names tonight!

Where were you Whizzer? I had the same experience tonight. Never even saw weed at Rock of Ages. And once those damn people stood I knew I’d have to get up too
It was just so odd to see people smoking inside a public place. Clearly the ushers didn’t care. It’s not like you couldn’t smell it or see the smoke lingering in the air. I felt like I had taken a time warp back to a previous era.

I notice this when I travel too. People take so many photos of a sunset or a building or a monument, but they never actually stop to take in the building and experience it. My phone is in my hand just as much as the next person, but I’ve been making an effort to be in the moment more and it’s nice. I saw so many people just starring into their screen tonight and I wanted to say, “Hey, Morrissey is right here in the same room with you, right on the stage. It’s not like watching him on a YouTube clip- he’s actually here in person. Look at him!”
I hate to be a killjoy but as a long-time Smiths/ Morrissey fan, he now holds some pretty toxic, nationalist political opinions that mean I couldn't enjoy seeing him any more. If you are checking out his discography, check his comments, too.

The ushers didn't care if people stood in the aisles in center orchestra to try to be near the stage either. The first four rows had empty seats so a great view was available despite everyone standing. No smoking of anything down in front except the stage with the abundance of fog for one number. My asthmatic self would have been complaining about any smoking in the venue, but possibly to no avail.
So Whizzer, you’ve posted three times about this concert and nothing about Frankie and Johnny? I’m surprised.

Yeah, it's almost like he went to this show and didn't see Frankie and Johnny yet?! It makes no sense...

Well as I know you know, Whizzer is renowned for seeing either first previews or very early previews, so yeah.
