I’m totally hooked on Fosse/ Verdon, especially since I’ve read the book as well. I was wondering that other Broadway and Theatre stories/scandals/etc people wanted to see on TV or in the movies?

If Ryan Murphy does another show in this vein, I would give my left hand for the Song of Spider-man book to be turned into a miniseries. I recently finished that book and, holy crap, that would be a fantastic show. I couldn’t put the book down.

Shubert/Nederlander - Broadway rivals discussed in the book Razzle Dazzle.

Dreamgirls/Nine - a season of tensions - an excerpt from that book.

Or any other individual story from that guilty pleasure book for that matter.

I’d like something with a title like “The Comedians:” a look at the early seventies Toronto experimental theatre and comedy scene that crystallized into Godspell in Toronto and continued on into the founding companies of SCTV and SNL. You could start with Godspell and make the early deaths of John Belushi and later Gilda Radner the end point. “I Must Say” by Martin Short is a pretty good memoir of those years.

FUNNY GIRL: Streisand/Stark

The evolution of the creation of this show can easily fit in the 8-part series mold. Michaela Diamond as Barbra Streisand. Michaela is 19 and Streisand was 21 when production started on the show.

Oh wow. That’s an awesome idea. I haven’t seen The Cher Show yet but from what I’ve seen, she’s great!

A Michael Bennett series could be fantastic. You could cover all of his shows, his relationships with McKechnie, Tune, Holliday, etc.

and the Industrials....

But the crafting of A Chorus Line could be a miniseries by itself.
