Just thought Id get this thread started. Any insight on what theatres will be opening up and what shows are looking to come in?

Jagged Little Pill hasn't announced a theatre yet. I think the Broadhurst was mentioned as a rumored theatre.

After Oklahoma leaves, Circle In The Square should be dark so that'll be available.

I don't know how much longer Beautiful and Waitress have left.. Those may be open as well.

Magic Mike and Once Upon a One More Time need theaters too (assuming they're opening in broadway in the spring of 2020)

When I saw Oklahoma an employee of Circle in the Square alluded that it was unlikely to extend as something already has the space booked for the upcoming holiday season.

The Belasco is open after Network closes.  It's about the same size as the Broadhurst, but I haven't heard anyone mention it when talking about JLP.  Could anyone else see JLP taking the Belasco?

Once The Ferryman (Jacobs), What the Constitution Means to Me (Hayes), and Burn This (Hudson) close, what’s going in those theatres?

I thought Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune was going into Broadhurst?

Second Stage has a pretty packed season of plays for the Hayes next season. And Frankie and Johnny is a limited run and will be over after the summer.

That would be perfect for JLP.

The Jake Geyllenhall show is doing a limited run at the Hudson afterwards. The Golden will be open as well this fall before Virginia Wolfe in March 2020. Belasco I’d assume is getting a play. Booth will be free as well in August

The Broadhurst will open in the fall and it was basically confirmed that Jagged Little Pill will go there.

If CITS is available, can I make my plea for someone to please create a gorgeous Children of Eden revival in that space? Thx!

Could Diana or Six transfer by Spring 2020 or even Fall 2019?

Surprised Oklahoma wouldn’t be open ended considering those reviews and its sells.

The Barrymore should be open as well, right? Nothing has been announced that I know of since Band's Visit closed.

In addition to theatres that are currently dark or will be dark due to announced closings, I also think the following theatres are quite likely to become available in time for a 2019-20 show to get in: Broadway, Brooks Atkinson, Longacre, Lyceum, Nederlander, Neil Simon, Sondheim, and Beaumont

My understanding from the talk at la jolla was that Diana would be taking broadway by fall 2019 spring 2020.

Magic mike I would say would take broadway in the spring. I wonder how magic mike would far in a more intimate theatre like circle in the square or the booth

We should remember that the economics of a small house like the Hayes and Booth don't lend themselves to larger shows a la JLP and Magic Mike. For one, JLP weekly grosses will have to cover Alanis' royalties.

My guessing is that these shows are aiming for 19-20 season, confirmed and rumored:

JLP

Girl From The North Country (THIS is one that I could see working in the Hayes, but given 2nd Stage's season, unlikely)

Lempicka

Dreamgirls

Don't Stop Til You Get Enough (unfortunate title given the resurgence of controversy around MJ and I respect Lynn Nottage, but there's no way on god's green earth that a Jackson Estate-sanctioned musical will address this subject matter in a real way)

Diana

Magic Mike

The Inheritance

Tea at Five (I guess the Booth or Jacobs)

Blue

Glengarry w. Patti

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

West Side Story

Once Upon a One More Time

Marie (formerly Little Dancer)

Titanic

Secret Garden

Devil Wears Prada (this one may be a 2020-2021 fixture, but they've been dripping out news, so seems like it's full steam ahead and producer Kevin McCollum loves to bring a show in cold without a tryout; see: Something Rotten)

And if I were to guess, these house will be vacant at some point:

Sondheim

Beaumont

Broadhurst

Booth

Golden (I assume this will play home to Laurie Metcalf for the 4th year)

Jacobs

Barrymore

Belasco

Cort

Brooks-Atkinson

Simon

Circle in the Square

Hudson

Broadway

Winter Garden (BJ ain't cheap to run and I'd bet they've already taken losses in previews)

Nederlander

A lot looks primed to have a fresh crop of shows, so really excited to see where everything shakes out. I'm probably missing some obvious ones.

If Beautiful and Waitress are at least earning its weekly nut, then I see them keeping their doors open.

The shows that need to worry more are those that haven't recouped yet (i.e. King Kong, Cher Show, Be More Chill, Pretty Woman, The Prom, etc.)

Just so there's a list somewhere on this page...

Currently or soon-to-be vacant theatres with no announced replacements:

American Airlines
Barrymore
Jacobs
Booth
Broadhurst
Circle in the Square
Cort
Hudson
Golden
Studio 54

I always had the idea that Girl From The North Country would take the Circle in the Square, not even like "I heard..." but just that seems like the best fit outside of the Hayes.

i also was under impression both Girl from North Country and Oklahoma! were both looking at CITS, and Oklahoma! got itself in order quicker (and was not seekin an open-ended run). Seems like GFNC would be a perfect there in the fall.

Id presume The Lehman Trilogy and The Inheritance will both transfer next season, and God I hope they do. Both seem like amazing pieces of theatre. I could see both playing either The Jacobs or the Belasco.

Waitress recouped a while ago, and according to several people I know, they have a replacement in mind for after Shoshana. The Brooks won’t be available any time soon.

As I previously mentioned, JLP is probably taking the Broadhurst after Frankie and Johnny. So it won’t be vacant, as people have said.

Until its confirmed with JLP, it'll still be listed as vacant since it is still vacant. No official word on that front.

I feel like there are so many people saying and so many indicators that JLP is going into the Broadhurst that it can't possibly end up going there. You know, one of those things that's just too perfect to actually happen.
