Lack of MFA in Musical Theatre in Europe#1
Posted: 4/22/19 at 9:48am

Hey guys! I was hoping some of you could help me with this.

I am currently looking to expand into a graduate (Or postgraduate) program for musical theatre. Specifically since the MFA in Musical Theatre is a terminal degree and I am looking to teach at the university level. One thing that I have noticed is that all of the European programs for MT are specifically only an MA. Is there a particular reason for this?

Thank you so much for your help.

Following up on this: I did manage to find one in the UK called the "Guilford School of Acting". I am adding this to my list of American schools that also offer an MFA.

Currently I have:
Boston Conservatory Berklee
Tulane
San Diego State University
Minnesota State University, Mankato
Guilford School of Acting

These are the schools I have found so far that offer specifically an MFA in Musical Theatre.
