From Bekah’s description it doesn’t sound like this will actually have much in common with the musical except for maybe sharing the same name. If it’s not a musical or isn’t going to include characters from the stage show, I actually don’t even get why they would bring the musical up at all. Anyone can do a television show called OKLAHOMA! You don’t have to pay R&H a royalty just for that.

Anyone remember ''Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,'' the 1982 TV series inspired by the '50s MGM movie? It starred Richard Dean Anderson (pre-''MacGyver'' ) and River Phoenix.

QueenAlice, there is a brief indirect quote in the interview noting that Bekah thinks "it will an interesting challenge to find ways to weave the music into the story organically". So it sounds as though it will still be a musical. But I agree in general terms that, in this interview at least, she isn't exactly playing up the links to the original stage show.
