Peace for Mary Frances transfer? |
To echo what others have said:
The off-Broadway production was not well-received at all, and it has no buzz at all. Plus it was almost a year ago. Even if there had been buzz at the time, it would be dead in the water by now.
I’m not saying it’s impossible. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to guess where people will be put their money in the world of NY theatre. But it strikes me as highly unlikely, and even if it’s true it sounds like an awful idea.

It could happen if they are getting bigger names for it. They can put a bigger actress in Lois Smith’s part and center it around her.
Actually more likely than most. It's a play that can connect with some people in a powerful and deeply personal way. If one of those people is a deep pocket producer it might happen. Plays with less prospect of recouping are being produced and kept afloat all the time.
Peace For Mary Frances was one of the worst plays I've ever seen in all my years of theater-going. I'd be shocked if this transferred. I'm shocked someone talked about it transferring. The play is insufferable.
Saw American Utopia last night and sat in their lounge before the show began. We were introduced to two men who were producers and they mentioned this show in their upcoming projects.
I missed this off-Broadway. No one here seemed to enjoy it.
What time is it?
