I would suggest Hadestown. Tickets will be much harder to get after the Tony noms at the end of this month (and then even harder if it gets Best Musical, which it has the greatest shot at rn), so this is a great chance to see the show
If you love spectacle and go in with a “I know this is going to be crap but THOSE EFFECTS!” I would recommend King Kong. I snagged a $49 rush ticket and was front row center - it was thrilling.

Hadestown --if you don't get tickets ASAP, this may be a difficult one to see because prices might skyrocket if they raves on Wednesday.
The Prom
Come From Away --recommended to my sister and she loved it! Also 90 minutes, and just amazing.
The Ferryman--Balance out the musicals with a play thrown in there.
Finally--I have a tie between Network, Oklahoma! and My Fair Lady. I don't think you could go wrong with any of those. Just my opinion though!
The Prom for sure. IMO the Best Musical of the season. And the nominations are in a few weeks. Definitely. Then I’d suggest: The Cher Show, Tootsie, Dear Evan Hansen (If You haven’t seen) and Network.
I’ve been to NYC twice already this year so I’ve seen 14 shows already (most of which have closed), but if I was in your position, these would be the 5 new (to me) shows I’d see:
- [ ] To Kill a Mockingbird - [ ] Oklahoma! - [ ] Hadestown - [ ] Tootsie - [ ] The Cher Show
Thank you guys for all the advice so far! So of course I had to extend my stay so now I’m doing 8 shows! Here is what I have. I only need one more show.
Hillary and Clinton Hadestown Burn This Patti LuPone with NYC Philharmonic King Lear The Cher Show Gary

Help me pick one more show!! This is so tough. "
Also feel free to tell me if any of my selections suck haha.
A friend saw Hillary and Clinton and said it was pointless. He didn’t regret seeing it because it was only like 80 minutes or so. But he also sees everything and always gets his tickets relatively cheap. I’d say skip it and see Oklahoma! and Tootsie instead.
Update: and I only say this because, like me, your trips to NY are limited and you can’t see everything.
Also, I highly recommend you see Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish.

I thought King Lear and Gary were both terrible. I would definitely skip those.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
The Ferryman is great theater- and not to be missed, IMO. Fiddler in Yiddish has subtitles- so you never miss any of the drama- I wish I could see it- but I live in Atlanta- and will not have an opportunity to see it any time soon.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
