Performances started last week. Has anyone gone yet? How was it? Going this week and got an e-mail saying its 2 hours and 50 minutes long, which I certainly did not expect!

Friends of mine saw it the other night and loved it, but I’m curious for more detailed reports. I won’t be seeing it for another couple of weeks.

Pinkham and Elless are both good - and they try hard to make it work.   Birds eye view set (or the car chase scene from Groundhog day) - is copied for the town set.  A lot of "we've seen it" visual/direction.  Basic, bland

Music and book are boring/slow- = exception a song or two. We also missed Samonsky - enjoyed him in previous version  This production doesn't add to what was, or wasn't, there in CA.   It's slightly charming but this group hasn't cracked it before - or now at Paper Mill.  Pass.  sputtering attempt that didn't work for our group.   we caught Hadestown the next day

There are quite a few full song clips on The Old Globe's youtube channel. There was nothing that would justify the train ride out to Jersey.

I thoroughly enjoyed this production! While it wasn’t exactly like the movie, I thought the writing and score were quite well done and clever. I think it was overall quirky and sweet- a feel good musical for sure! I particularly enjoyed the parts with Sam- the Charlie Chaplin inspired movement and comedy were lovely! Definitely worth the trip to Papermill. Hope to see it go to Broadway soon!
