No, there is no alternative for Atticus. I'm not sure if I've heard of there ever being one for a play.

The original production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? had an entirely different cast for matinees, which included Elaine Stritch and Kate Reid as Martha and Shepperd Strudwick as George.
More recently, Wayne Wilcox was John Benjamin Hickey's alternate during The Normal Heart (because of shooting commitments for The Big C) and John Dossett was Kevin Bacon's alternate for An Almost Holy Picture. And I know there are other examples I'm forgetting.
