I’ve got this coming up in May and wondering if anyone has seen it recently? Any tips on merchandise available at the souvenir stands?

I saw it March 16. It’s a first-class tour, most of the cast are Bway vets. It seemed to play a little longer to me than it did in NY; little over 2:45. Maybe just the cumulative effect of scene changes on a bigger stage. The Evan is terrific, though he does indulge in a little bit of showy belting a couple of times. Acting-wise, this company could transfer to the Music Box tomorrow.

Sorry, didn’t check out the merch, but there were lots of people carrying T-shirts.

Very much looking forward to seeing this tomorrow (yay!!! ) and hoping to also come away with a window card! It’s the final show of our 2018/2019 season. After Pittsburgh the tour moves on to Minneapolis, Cleveland, Greenville, Boston, and DC. If anyone has questions let me know and I’ll get to them when I get to Pittsburgh in the morning.

I saw it in Cincinnati in May and thought it was really well done. I did have 3 understudies (which seemed like a lot since there are only 8 actors), including Evan. I did wonder if there was a bug going around that led to that, especially because one of the actors had a cough in a couple of scenes. There was a note in the Playbill that Ben Levi Ross was not doing Saturday or Sunday matinees (plus he missed the Friday evening show I was attending), so if you're seeing a matinee you won't get him - although he has Pittsburgh roots, so maybe he'll play all the shows there? I can't recall the name of the understudy I had, but he was wonderful.

I didn't check out the merch stand, either, so I'm sorry I can't help there.

I usually sit in front orchestra, but had to settle for rear for this one due to seat pricing/availability. As a result, I didn't find myself as emotionally invested as maybe I would have been if I could have seen the actors' faces. But that might just have been me - there was a lot of crying in my section. Probably best to bring tissues!

I'm also seeing the final Pittsburgh performance from third row - which is a MUCH better seat I had than when I saw the OBC (last row of orchestra) and I'm looking forward to seeing it again from much closer. I'm also one who likes to sit way up front and if I'm too far back I tend to feel less connected and don't enjoy a show as much. I've kind of spoiled myself, I guess. Thank God for touring house last minute ticket availability. I checked for months and there was nothing and then Friday night/Saturday wee hours of morning suddenly there was a glorious 3rd row center, aisle seat! HALLELUH!

As for merch, I would assume they sell most of the same stuff as their online store: https://broadwaymerchandiseshop.com/stores/dearevanhansen/

Broadway Bob* I agree with you 100%.  I didn't renew my Broadway Across America subscription because my seats were too far back in both the Benedum and Heinz Hall.  I was ambivalent about seeing DEH, but it got such a rave in the paper on Thursday I looked for a single seat for the matinee today and sure enough, there was one lovely seat in Row H, smack in the middle!  I hope the storms hold off! Enjoy the show!

I was lucky and got decent seats for my permanent subscription, but have been even luckier with relocating when those “empty seats” pop up. For this show at Heinz Hall, I’m front row Family Circle, which is fine for me.

I’ve renewed (for the next two years) and put in the request to change my subscription seat for the 2019/2020 season, but haven’t heard back from them yet. It shouldn’t be a problem since it’s just a single seat.

The earlier morning has been gorgeous, but the rain has now hit and the radar shows some powerful downpours hitting around noon. I’m heading to the theatre now to pickup my Will Call Ticket from the seat change. Got some wonder pics of the theater front when I had the chance.

We have one alternate: Zoe Murphy will be played by Ciara Alyse Harris.

Ben Levi Ross is magnificently gifted, as the local paper here said and I quite agree. Sorry you are missing Maggie McKenna.

We did have Stephen Christopher Anthony as Evan Hansen. It’s not on the cast board, but in the show program which I didn’t really look at until I got home. I thought, even from where I was sitting, it wasn’t Ben Levi Ross once the show started. None the less, Stephen has a superb voice and I thought he sounded a lot like Evan from the OBCR. And his acting was phenomenal.

As mentioned above we also had the one other understudy, and I also thought she did well.

The sound mixing was a bit off for the first several minutes of the show and it was hard to hear the dialogue. Even the songs were light. But by time they got to For Forever (third song in the program) it was significantly better.

I had been listening to the OBCR for several weeks and my favorite song, other than the show’s anthem You Will Be Found, was Sincerely, Me. Absolutely could listen to that on repeat. Which I have. And quite a lot on the drive back home. Love the way it was acted out.

Requiem made more sense once I saw it on stage. It was heartbreakingly done, and Ciara Alyse Harris sang beautifully. And the scene where If I Could Tell Her is played out was brilliantly acted and sung by Stephen (Evan).

The onstage band was slightly distracting in their perch high above stage right. At times the lights that lit their scores where quite visible through the mesh screen.

Act 1 blew right by, and Act 2 takes a turn for the serious. It was raw, and many times Stephen Christopher Anthony was wiping tears off his face, once the tears visibly dropping to the stage. He was superb.

The graphics projected on the multitude of screens were quite amazing, and reminded me a bit of The Curious Case of the Dog In the Night-time.

The ending of the show was peaceful. Quite a contrast to the 2-1/2 hrs we just sat through. As mentioned in a post above “Acting-wise, this company could transfer to the Music Box tomorrow”, and I quite agree whole heartedly. All of the performances were solid. And the show was immensely enjoyable, even with the subject matter at hand.

I did buy a window card, a Limited Edition National Tour version specific to Heinz Hall, as well as a souvenir program.

This show is very highly recommended. Don’t miss this.

My friend saw this recently on Cincinatti and also mentioned that the sound mixing was off in the beginning. Interesting.

This was the next to last show of this run in Pittsburgh, you’d think they would have had it nailed down by now?

I saw it in Buffalo twice and had the full cast both times.  Ben Levi Ross is just ridiculously talented, his voice is beautiful and he just embodied what I expected Evan to be.  The entire cast is phenomenal and I would love to see it with the understudies, I've heard they are all so talented!
