If you are planning on being back in the next year, I'd go with The Prom. In case it closes before you return. Tootsie should still be here for your next visit.
This is a tough one cause they both sound pretty fabulous...I am seeing both next week for my annual NYC theater trip. Are you familiar with the movie Tootsie? and if so how interested in the story are you? I am super excited to see both but I just feel like the Prom might not be around that much longer where Tootsie has alot of buzz. If you get to the city often maybe you can see Tootsie on your next trip:)
I saw both this weekend. I think I actually enjoyed Tootsie more, even though it's still a little rough about about 20 minutes too long. But both are very clever, entertaining shows performed by top-notch Broadway veterans. No Pulitzer-Prize winning material by any means, but a fun night at the theatre.

The story and the laughs are more genuine. The sonds more enjoyable and the book actually witty funny. Ive had return visits to the prom. You couldnt pay me to revisit Tootsie.
