"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Why does it seem local news is always such a joke?

The funny thing? (as with most social media) All the news did is MAKE it a big deal. The number of people that might be actually offended by this that wouldn't have even KNOWN is bigger than those that would.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

As someone born and raised in Fresno: he’s not wrong. Downtown is mostly a dump. There’s nothing to do. The best thing about Fresno is it’s close to Yosemite. And those people quoted in the article know this if they’re being honest with themselves
Is this news-worthy? Not at all, however, I am going to side with the news story by saying he shouldn't have posted it. Right or wrong -- It's just not smart business for his own brand.
Comedians, singers and actors repeatedly bad mouths cities they’ve either performed in or have filmed in. This isn’t anything new. This guy didn’t revolutionize anything. Geez.
OK, but bigger question...who does Michael Wartella play in Wicked? I could see him as a really good Boq or Fiyero, and I really enjoyed him in Tuck Everlasting.

I've been to Fresno. Out of the 40 plus cities I've been to seeing shows it's definitely the worst one. Literally nothing to do but some seedy casino and the theatre.
