Superhero cast recoding? |
I know most folks didn’t like this production...
I enjoyed it.
I listened to a YouTube video of the star singing "Save The Girl". Tom Kitt really can't write lyrics, but the music is really nice. I wouldn't mind giving the whole show a listen.
I enjoyed this show and would look forward to the release of a cast recording. Especially liked What's Happening to My Boy?

The fact that an album was already recorded makes it seem like the show is fully dead with no other productions occurring.

The negative reviews and word of mouth, plus complete lack of buzz, also indicate that this production is dead. I bet the show will have a decent life in licensing, and the album will probably help with that. But I can’t imagine them trying to transfer this original production.

Who would license this? And why? I can understand 2ST biting before the thing was finished, but now that it is, it's tough to imagine someone seeing the material and choosing it.

Oh believe me, I'm right there with you. I hated the show. But many theatres frequently license weak material if they feel it's a good option for their resources and mission. The show has a small cast and doesn't require much of a budget. High schools and colleges might like it given it's focus on a teenager

There's always someone out there who falls in love with a flop and thinks they can be the ones to get people to see the hidden gem, whether it's by taking a new approach to the direction and physical production, or want to be the ones who can "fix" it (usually with unauthorized rewrites to the script, because that's almost always what people blame, even if the score is just as bad as the script).
