Hadestown Rush/SRO Updates |
Hey all, what's it typically like on a Thursday these days, now that we're about a month out from the Tonys? I plan to see it on July 25 and I'm not sure when to get in line - I've seen some posts say noon, some 10AM, and some 2pm... I know you can't really know for sure, but what do you guys suppose? It's a one-show day on a weekday. Hm.
Hey all! Has anybody tried to get SRO on two-show days for the evening performance? Would getting there at 11:30 be a solid time? Thanks!
We rushed matinee today, Saturday July 13th! First 2 people got there at 10:30pm yesterday night, numbers 3 and 4 got there at 4am, my hubby and I were 5 and 6 and got there at 4:30am. The next person didn't arrive till around 6:30am. Between 7am and 8am, about 15 more people joined the line. By 9am, it was around 42 people. Line security guy took roll call by writing down names in order of people in line around 10am.
The first 6 people got single seats (order: 2 orchestra extreme sides partial view seats about 8 rows back, 2 extreme side seats in the 2nd row, and 1 seat in each balcony on opposite sides). We counted around 12 standing room people, who all looked like they found empty seats to sit in for the second act.
Anyone do rush for a Sat. Evening show? What time should I get there? What time does the evening line actually start? TIA!

I did standing room this past Saturday evening! I arrived at 1PM and was about 9th in line if I remember correctly. The line officially "began" at 2:30PM. Of course, this was the day of the blackout so the performance was cancelled, so the folks at the theatre were kind enough to past date our tickets to Tuesday night instead, so I saw it last night!
First time seeing the Broadway transfer of Hadestown and it's absolutely exhilarating. Jessie Shelton was on as Eurydice and having seen her as a Fate at NYTW, it was so lovely seeing her again. She did a great job.

I'm so glad you were still able to see it!! I felt bad for people who had waited hours in line for rush or SRO, only for the performance to be canceled.
Someone on FB reported being 15th in line when they arrived at 6am, and first people arriving around 4am
does anyone know when box tickets go on sale for august?? i've been looking into going early that month, but i rather not spend anything above $140 per ticket

I am rushing right now (Thursday 7/18 ). I arrived at 10:30 expecting to find a huge line but I was literally the first one here. Maybe it's because of the rain but anyway I am so happy! I'll post updates as other people join the line.
Update : 2 people arrived around 11:15 and 2 other around 11:25. 7 people in line at 11:45. 8th person arrived at 12:38. 5 people arrived a 1pm, so the line was 13 people long. 15 people at 1:34. 20 at 1:48. 49 people were in line at 5pm.
I got orchestra L22.
There were 6 tickets available in total : L22, L21, C13, C14, and 2 boxes. Then SRO. (I left but I was told it was either 10 or 20)

It is now 1:15pm and the 12th person in line just arrived.
I’m planning on rushing on Wednesday, Aug 7th for the matinee and really want a standing room ticket. (I’m 6’5”. I get really anxious about blocking people’s views that are sitting behind me, so standing room is ideal for me.)

Spookyfish - there could be a max of 14 tickets, but I believe cast/crew members can also give them out to family and friends as an alternative to house seats, so I’ve seen them sell only 8. It’s hard to know on a given day but they likely will have more SRO on a weekday.

Wow, I bow down to you. I went out for lunch today and I couldn't stand the humidity! I can't imagine standing in line for hours in this condition (what more this weekend). Hope you're keeping hydrated! Enjoy the show tonight!

Why not purchase either a box seat or a last row in the section seat?

I’m accross the street at the Prom and the line was considerable when I got here around 8:45 - at least 15 people. There’s likely more now, I just can’t see the entire line from where I am.
Good luck to everyone rushing today!! The city is under an excessive heat warning so make sure to stay hydrated!

I sat last row mezz, 3 seats from the left outermost aisle. I would definitely say they’re partial view, as from my seat I couldnt see some of the orchestra members to the left (the cellist + violinist, to be specific) but I dont think you’d miss anything extremely important since it’s heavily center staged.
