Video - My One and Only (Tommy Tune)

This video is from a production of My One and Only which was presented at Point Park University. It was directed by original Broadway cast member Niki Harris who I assume recreated Tommy Tune's original choreography. They do a great job!

This show remains one of my all time favorites. Incredible dancing I think. Tommy Tune has to be the most brilliantly creative director/choreographers still around today. I wish he'd give us another show.

I would have loved to have seen the original stagings of My One and Only, Will Rogers Follies and Grand Hotel.

Lucky for you, Will Rogers Follies was recorded for Japanese television, so if you know where to look...

Still waiting for an official release of that title in better quality. I’ve watched parts of it. If I’m not mistaken, Victor/Victoria was filmed the same way and eventually released on DVD and blu ray but Will Rogers Follies never got the same treatment.

The International Tour of the original Broadway production of 42ND STREET was also filmed for Japanese television. It starred original cast members Lee Roy Reams and Carole Cook and featured Clare Leach as Peggy Sawyer and Beth Leavel as Annie.

I seem to get older everyday. :) Was never a fan of Will Rogers Follies but all three were staged beautifully.
