Yup! That's correct smiley

...but that's not the singular reason the show does not appeal to me. I did not like the score, either.

If I go to the show at 7:30, what time should it end? Would I catch a 10:05 train/bus?

According to TKTS, it runs 2:35 so you will miss your train/bus.

Have Mercy- COUNTLESS Broadway musicals and plays have used turntables. In fact they’ve been used in the theatre for hundreds of years. They actually predate the real Alexander Hamilton let alone the musical with his name sake.

Finally saw this, thanks StubHub, and have to echo everyone else. Fun evening but doesn’t add up to much. The most emotion I felt was for Amber Gray’s character. Just watching her watching others she made my heart break.

I loved the staging but it got a little tiresome. I could have used one more surprising element in Act 2.

And... I don’t get Reeves. Don’t get it. His voice wasn’t pleasant. His acting was just awful. I don’t get it. We can do better.

Reeve is a brilliant choice for the part, speak only for yourself, "we" doesn't exist considering he's part of a Broadway community that chose him, and you simply are not. The part isn't for a typical leading man. This man is a wonderful actor and musician as well. You personally insulting actors due to obvious personal issues is tired.

Caught the matinee yesterday and everyone was in. Eva looked and sounded incredible, so glad she's feeling better. The audience was electric and by act 2 most were emotional puddles on the floor. Intense, emotional, brilliant. The voices of Reeve, Andre, Patrick and Eva will haunt me forever in the most beautiful way. Amber seemed very tired. This is a perfect show and I LOVE the use of the turntable and use of every inch of the set.

Your opinion isnt anymore "right" than SouthernCakes. Why do you think only yours can be voiced?

I actually agree with the sentiment that Carney is the weak link...many do...as I'm sure many enjoy him. Its interesting he's the only from Hadestown lead NOT recognized with a Tony nom.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

There’s no personal issues. I don’t know the man. Just a simple audience reaction. Everyone else felt grounded and real and honest and he felt very “IM ACTING.” And I’d have preferred a softer falsetto for the role instead of the strained rock vocals he gave. Case in point: when Eva does the “Wait for Me” reprise, I thought that song finally had some power and heft to it.

Amber was electrifying at the evening show.

No negative, no! Just not a flat out rave! I loved so much of it - mostly all of Eva’s songs and material - but felt a lot of the music was just “eh.” And I loved the staging but felt it fizzled out.

Obviously it’s a big fat hit and happy for everyone involved! And love Rachel as a director so happy she will have a hit under her belt!
