Is it an AmEx pre-sale on September 14 or is that being foregone?
There's no indication that there's an Amex presale, and I don't believe any of Scott Rudin's shows do them anyway. 9/14 is the general onsale.

Did Rudin skip an AmEx presale for Hello,Dolly! and To Kill A Mockingbird?
Thanks!

Yes.
The AMEX presale is not what it used to be. Back in the day, AMEX usually forked over the money for a full-page ad in the NYTimes advertising the presale, but they don't do that any more. I believe they partner with Audience Rewards now.
The purpose of a presale is to encourage people to buy early. When you have Hugh Jackman in THE MUSIC MAN, you don't need any incentive for people to buy early. A presale also stops SR from being able to flaunt that he broke his own record for the highest-sales-day in the history of the Shubert Org (like he did for DOLLY).

Thanks. Rudin is playing it very close to his chest - no theatre announcement yet. He has to make a grand announcement in the next few days. There is also interest from overseas and people are asking what time the general sale starts so they can figure out what time zone to be ready at

So tickets will be sold without a confirmed theatre? How will that work, and has this been done before?

I could be wrong, but --
Presumably Hugh's tweet is like an advance notice ( he does that for some of his film projects, such as when a trailer is about to drop). I wouldn't be surprised if the producer's office makes the official announcement ( theatre specified) before September 14!

Both Twitter and Instagram ads specify TELECHARGE.

Thank you.

That is incorrect. AMEX still pays for those full page NYT ads quite frequently.
I assume 8 AM is Eastern Standard Time, so 7 AM where I am. Guess I'll be happy my cat wakes me up early on the weekend on that day. :)

BroadwayInbound ( which has been handling the Group Sales reservations) has this pricing structure. Please note that weekend prices differ from weekday prices.
https://www.broadwayinbound.com/shows/the-music-man/
The Winter Garden is strongly rumored to be the theatre which will house the revival. If it is any ( slight) indication, the pricing structure from BroadwayInbound quotes prices only for Orchestra and Mezzanine ( no balcony).
I guess we will know soon enough - the producer's office or the Shubert Org will likely make an official announcement on the specific theatre before sales start.

Wow. If this really turns out to be true, between Garner, Foster, and Jackman, I will have no problem getting my husband to go with me and no arguments about how much the seats are going to cost.

Maybe her daughter?
Jennifer Garner is WAY too old to play a teenager.
