Two weeks ago I saw The Prom on a Thursday night and I really enjoyed it. Was it a perfect show by any means? No. But what I really loved about it was how it was just fun. Nothing more too it, just plain all in all fun. I also really admired how much the cast was enjoying themselves especially the ensemble.
Now my concern really is their grosses. For a little (ish) show at a small to medium sized house (Longacre), it needs to be selling better and it just isn't. What's more concerning is that they've already performed at the parade, gma, and the late show and not much has changed its really just stayed the same. IMO I feel like it will linger til the nominations ceremony which will either make or break its run. It sounds risky as that's a month away but fingers crossed this may be what helps it, even though we know it won't be winning anything huge it's still a hope!! What do you guys think?? Does it have any chance?
I think it has strong chances at winning awards. Its got great performances strong direction and great music funny book. No other currently open musicals are contenders in my opinion. I think The Prom...Hadestown and Tootsie will probably have the strongest chances.
The cast just shot a huge new promo campaign, they should be open through the Tonys. The show has had similar grosses to Gentleman's Guide back in late 2013/early 2014. Not saying The Prom will win the tony but hopefully wants nominations come out the sales will pick up. It really is such a special gem that everyone should see.
I agree it's a fun show but there were also some dramatic/heartwarming moments too. I surprisingly got teary eyed during the songs "We Look to You", "Alyssa Greene", and of course "Unruly Heart".
I really hope they are still open in late June when some friends are visiting for world pride. They have tix already and looking forward to seeing this!

When I went Brooks, Caitlin, Angie, Isabelle and Michael Potts. Along with the understudy for Alyssa's mom who was on when I went. I have seen people post pics of Beth and Chris also, so I wouldn't count anyone out. Lots of the ensemble also comes out and love answering questions!
I have seen all but a few of this past season's musicals. The only one still open that I haven't seen is The Cher Show.
For me, The Prom is my favorite. I enjoyed them all for the most part,Some more than others, but The Prom just left me totally satisfied. I am praying for this show to take top honors. I won't say "pull an upset" because I think it deserves it.
Broadway World’s own Richard Ridge is doing a live interview with the cast and creatives of the hit musical The Prom thus Friday afternoon at 2pm. It’s a FREE event. Just click through to the rsvp tab and sign in as a non member and bring a guest. It’s going to be fun.

When we saw the show, we got all of the main casts autographes at the stage door except for C. Sieger. We also got a ton of supporting cast too. My two daughters were able to get pics with so many of them. Their playbills were filled up. It was a great show and a great stagedoor experience

Damn! This was GREAT. What a joy. I'd put off seeing it while I was trying to see as many other new shows as possible, but so glad I finally did. Last night, also a Thursday night, appeared to a full and enthusiastic house. The Prom is the sleeper gem of the season, as far as I'm concerned.
Not making any predictions; never do. I had a great time at Tootsie and am seeing Hadestown this weekend, along with two more plays. Every new musical I've seen since Pretty Woman beats the heck out of it, but I've missed Ain't Too Proud, Be More Chill, Bettlejuice, Cher and King Kong, I'd like to see Ain't Too Proud; not terribly inclined to see the others given the limits on my time imposed by living three hours away.
