How intriguing! Do we think it’s Waitress? I doubt it’s a new musical given how late in the season it is, so that’s really the only thing I could think of that makes sense and they do need a new Dr P soon!
He did! He was afraid to say in case it falls through. It was really well done. Sang songs from most of his shows - Santa Fe from newsies, broadway here I come, Bonnie from Bonnie and Clyde, something’s coming from west side story, moving too fast from the last 5 years. Plus waitress, a few mashups, Seth tried to get him to sing summer lovin’ but he couldn’t remember all the words so only sang the first verse. Finished with acoustic les mis - bring him home. Mashups were somewhere over the rainbow/home and the other were 2 standards. Sorry I can’t remember all the songs.
best story of the night: his and Ashley’s first date was karaoke singing duets to each other
No worries at all!! Thank you for the thorough review. I was at Broadway Backwards tonight, which was FABULOUS and I always attend... just didn’t realize when I bought the tickets that it was the same night. Love both!!
Ha! Seth always likes to tease that. I was at the one with Audra last Fall, and they teased she was coming back, which was eventually revealed to be the announcement re: F&J.
I love Jeremy and his Santa Fe— I’ll catch him soon!! Thank you so much!!

I adore Jeremy, and I built my currently-in-progress Broadway binge trip specifically around this show. I saw him sing live once before (with the Houston Symphony in October 2017), and saw him on Broadway in American Son.
He was charming as ever, and it was definitely exciting that he teased a pending return to Broadway (I'm hoping he was referencing In The Light, the new musical by Michael Mott that he's been attached to for a bit).
On the downside, is singing tonight was unfortunately not his best. He's been sick recently, and was still coughing, and he hit some bad notes (which I didn't know was possible for him). There was also more speak-singing than he usually does, and a lot of the subtler, held notes that he usually does such a beautiful job with got lost. During the first verse of She Used to Be Mine, I actually wondered if Seth was playing the piano louder than it would normally be played in that section in order to provide cover for Jeremy's voice.
I do not fault Jeremy for this whatsoever, and would certainly rather hear him sing a little rough than not at all. People get sick, that's life. On the whole it was a great show and he is wonderful and I will be among the first to buy tickets to anything new he does on Broadway.

There hasn't been any movement with "In The Light" for close to a year, so I don't think that's it. He has never been shy about his love for Waitress, so I do hope he is the new Dr. P!

That's not true. Per Michael Mott's social media accounts, in just the last six months he's been working on re-writes, they held at least one reading, and met with (according to him) a Tony award-winning producer. And a few weeks ago he teased a "big announcement" about In the Light coming within the next month or so.

Given some of the commitments that Jordan already has in the fall (including a limited return to Supergirl), the Waitress rumor seems to make sense, possibly with his wife as Jenna for a limited time. As a pair, they would generate a lot of interest, and it would be a nice summer gig for him before he gets busy in the fall.

The Music Man appears to be at least a year away. I did not hear what Jordan said, but from the reports I heard, he seemed to be alluding to something sooner than that. And I thought John Cariani as Marcellus in the Kennedy Center production appeared to be ideal casting.
