It's kind of sad what the city did to life off-campus and UNC-Greensboro is a great school with a great campus for those of us who took too long to leave it but what the city does off-campus is huge problem.
Blocks away tenants are hounded, slandered and outright stalked by Greensboro police and "people with money" who the city told me "have always run things." For years, Community Watch Gail Barger slandered away, she was quite the storyteller especially under oath at the courthouse but if you really did land in trouble she'd post it to the entire neighborhood which made her appear a great neighbor and city pro-active towards ne'er do-wells when in reality she was Gail Garbage for doing it; in my case--with help and encouragement from the police, Barger--and many others--continued to approach my property and my person taking photos me as things went on so I went to County and served the Community Watch, something the GPD claimed never happened but it did for I watched her be served from my front door right in front of personal friends none of us will probably ever have: police who even got out of their vehicles to watch her get served (that's kind of dramatic, coincidentally enough). She was in the middle of hob-nobbing, but hob-nobbed no more except for at National Night Out later where the Establishment and police sell the public a big ol' lie--you're not really invited, just there. This, however, inspired others to give it a try--I served Kim Maynard, too, with more denial from the Department who down-played his nastiness and repeated stops right on the property line "Kim sounds like a girl's name" with the Department gas-lighting all of it entirely with "We can tell you think we're out to get you" and that persons with the Beloved Community Center "Had strange ideas" and their biggest pile of crap of all coming from a Detective "The Community Watch Program is a private program having nothing to do with us." The Department on account of someone possibly reading this also came out to Catawba County several times, for itself apparently, not "people with money" who clearly own the majority of the Department--it wasn't all of them, I have to be fair but the personal connection between the Department and "people with money" became obviously concrete as Barger never went away as the Department endlessly stopped me to ask where the Coliseum and Rice Toyota was, some stepped right-up in my face and smiled inside Edward McKay's.
What the Department is doing is illegal, anti-American and of course involves both parties as it always does.
