What are the odds of the Gershwin switching dates for me...

My SO is military and we bought tickets for Mid-May while we were in the city this past weekend to see shows. We just found out we will be going overseas for our new station much sooner. If I call the box office, will they be willing to change our dates for same price seats? Can they even do that long distance?

I'd try Ticketmaster first. Go to your ticket order on their site, and then click Live Chat in the bottom corner, that should get you in the theater queue (if you end up in the concert/sports queue, they will be far less helpful) and they shouldn't have an issue with it... if you try calling, look for the Ticket/box office phone number on the Wicked website, not the Ticketmaster site, so you again end up talking to the right department.

You bought at the box office? Haterobics, will Ticketmaster still help them?

Oh, I missed that part. I have no idea how they will be able to reach the physical box office without walking up to it... all of the numbers you find will typically ring Ticketmaster. Perhaps Ticketmaster will give them a direct line?

I'd recommend reaching out to Nederlander who owns the Gershwin - customerservice@nederlander.com or 212.840.5577 (per their website).

If you searched Google for Gershwin Theatre, the direct number to the theatre is there. Follow the prompts and it'll get you to someone who's at The Gershwin who can help out.

I don't think they ever publish the phone ext of the box office but I agree with others to contact Nederlander.

Worst case scenario if you can't reach anyone or reach a dead end, go to the city when you guys are free and go to the box office when it opens and ask if you can exchange your May tickets for the matinee or evening performance for that day. It's low season for Broadway right now so I highly doubt Wicked will be sold out.

If you bought the tix at the box office, definitely skip contacting ticketmaster, they won't have any access to your transaction.  If you go into the city frequently, going to the box office directly is your best bet.

Good luck.  (I'd guess they will be willing to help you.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

They do publish the phone numbers for their theatres. They are the only ones that do it. But, one of the prompts is the ability to talk to someone who’s at the theatre directly and can also direct your call to the right department including the box ofrice:

Islander_Fan - OT but your team is having a very good year, hope it continues. My wife had season tickets in the early 80's before we met and eventually moved to NC. Nice to see them playing some games at the Nassau Coliseum again !!

Thank you for the help everyone! We live 5 hours from the city so going in wasn’t an option. With your help I was able to find the box office number. I got my tickets switched for early April. They said typically they do not do this but under the circumstances they understood.
