Waitress Tour Question#1
Posted: 3/4/19 at 9:13am

Do we know how long Christine is with the tour? I'm hoping to plan a trip to see the tour when it comes to Hartford in June, but I want to make sure she's still there!

Waitress Tour Question#3
Posted: 3/18/19 at 2:39pm

I’m convalescing at home with some sinus crud and urging myself to feel better so I’ll be well to attend Waitress here in OKC tomorrow for which I already have a front center orchestra seat. Answers to a couple tour-related questions will help distract me:

- What does the tour merch comprise of? I bought a magnet and the program when I saw it on Broadway in 2017. Hoping there is at least a mug.

- Do they sell pie at intermission like on Broadway? Thanks all for your responses!

I’m listening to Sara’s album of songs from the show and I think I’m already feeling better!

Waitress Tour Question#4

Miles, I just saw this last Tuesday and Sunday, so this is the most up to date info you are going to get.smileyThey sell pies and they are $9.  Yes, I said $9 for a tiny little cup.  Before the show started they had a ton of them.  By intermission, they had run out of every flavor except a few key lime pie.  She did not have any restock.  I'm not sure if this is normal or because it was their last performance.  They sell the original Broadway cast cd for $20.  I'm positive you can find it cheaper elsewhere..  They had magnets and lapel pins, t shirts and I think mugs.  I normally don't pay attention to the merchandise booth, but I was bored and made the exception.  I hope you feel better.  Pay attention to who is playing Joe.  It is someone you should recognize from a popular 70's sitcom.

Oooh, my interest is piqued!!! $9 seems cheap. I think they were $12 on Broadway. Lol. As I have Apple Music, I tend not to buy CDs as I can listen to them via my subscription although I did buy the 2CD of the Falsettos OBCR when I saw the revival in Sacramento last week. I’ll likely get a mug plus who knows what else. Thanks for the info!

Really?  The pie isn't even in the shape of a pie.  It is in a tiny little container.  I could eat it in three bites.  If Jacksonville is an indication, if you are set on a particular flavor, buy it before the show begins.

ArtMan, you heard me playing in the band.  I played the Jacksonville and Miami shows.  Funny, I didn't even know they were selling pies, although it makes sense!  And yes, it was fun to tell people who was playing Joe.  laugh

DooWahDiddy, I don't know who you were specifically, but all of you sounded great.  I was surprised to hear the next stop was Oklahoma City.  It seems far for a next stop.  Do you contract just for specific regions?

Waitress Tour Question#9

I was actually off-stage, playing Keyboard 2 and some percussion.  I was actually hoping I could have gone with them to OKC since it's my hometown and my family is still there, but alas, they only needed me for Florida.

The band travels with the show; it just so happens the keyboardist needed a couple of weeks off and I had known him from my time in NY, but I now live in Florida.  So he called me to take over for Miami and Jacksonville.  Lots of fun, and glad to hear it sounded good in the house!

Waitress Tour Question#10
Posted: 3/18/19 at 6:33pm
The pies are different prices at different venues. In Tempe they were $6.50. In Richmond they were $7 and in Memphis they were $8. They are also different flavors. All 3 of those cities I went to had a local one and then the normal ones. They also sell out before intermission.

The merchandise is the same as on Broadway.

I’m guessing the pies will be closer to $6.50 in OKC.

One more question(s): are they offering items up for donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS? If so, what items and for what amounts? Thx

Show was amazing in OKC tonight. The salted caramel “pie” was delish. They just had that and apple, I believe. I bought a t-shirt, the pie-shaped magnet (I have a different one from Broadway), and a mug. Everyone came out to stage door and most signed. If you get a chance to catch this on tour, do it. And thanks for the heads up to pay attention to the actor playing Joe. It was indeed a pleasant surprise. I’m beat so I’m keeping this brief...

Wait, what do people mean about the actor playing Joe? What's happening there?

magictodo123, The actor playing Joe appeared on a very famous, long run 70's sitcom.  If you are younger or not a classic tv fan, you won't care.  It is really not a spoiler, but if you are still interested sent me a pm and I will tell you.

Why are you acting like it’s not public knowledge? According to IBDB Joe on the tour is played by Richard Kline

I'm not acting like it's not public knowledge.  Do you really think that most people who go to a tour read IBDB prior to their performance?  Do you really think that many people read the cast bios in their playbill prior to the performance?  If they even read their playbill, most look at the musical numbers and the ads for upcoming productions.  Just by going by my past two performances, the audience around me (both performances) DID NOT know he was playing Joe, even after Act 1.  Some were pleasantly surprised to hear that he was from Three's Company.  Some still didn't know who we was.  I did not feel at the time, it was my place  to take that surprise away from some one.  But now that YOU have, as I stated earlier, it's really not a spoiler.

I’m curious, since the new tour is non-equity, they can’t use the Sara Bareilles pre recorded audio, right? What are the rules regarding voiceovers?
