Typically speaking. What would you say is the limit of the number of shows one type (Dinsey or jukebox or Andrew Lloyd Webber etc) that Broadway can withstand before it affects the grossed of one or more of the shows. I keep thinking that typically the most of any of these has been three. And the fourth one has been the breaker. Ie. cats sunset phantom and school of rock. Or Tarzan Mary poppins lion king beauty and the beast.
I can really never think of a time when Sondheim had two plus shows running

This is a perfect place to invoke my standing maxim: there are no rules.
The shows that succeed are the ones that people want to see, the ones that fail are the ones they don't. The only external influence on one show's success that I would acknowledge would be that there is a limit on how many new good shows can succeed.
