Hi, I'm a low alto who needs audition songs. I'm looking to audition for the role of Aida. If could help me I'd be so thankful.

I would not recommend auditioning for the role of Aida if you're a low alto because she has some high notes. However, if you can pull of those notes at least 60%, you might as well fake it 'til you make it! Some alto songs that are relatively fitting for this musical/role include:

  • ***I'd Give My Life For You from MISS SAIGON (strongly recommended, but might be overdone by other females auditioning for the role of Aida)
  • America from WEST SIDE STORY
  • A Boy Like That/I Have A Love from WEST SIDE STORY
  • By My Side from GODSPELL
  • What I Did For Love from A CHORUS LINE

How about "I'm Here from The Color Purple.  Or anything from Miss Saigon or The Color Purple.
