Hi! I wanted to start a new chat board for the Be More Chill rush since one hasn't been made yet. I'm gonna be in New York in a few weeks and am definitely gonna try and see the show. I just want to gauge the rush line so I know what time to get there. If you have a rush experience, please feel free to share!
Got there st 8:40 today (Saturday). I was about 40th in line and was able to get a ticket. Looks like all the seats are obstructed, and I’m not sure how many they have per show. The line got pretty long after me, I would guess by the time they opened there were about 90 people in line.
Sounds line they are selli g lots of tix for rush.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Makes sense as I'd think the point of previews is to get as many seats filled to help with word of mouth but I know some shows limit the number of rush tix regardless of how empty the theater is. I remember going to the Once on this Island lottery on a Monday evening back in November 2017 and one of the producers came out and told us all of us had won the lottery (there were 50-60 of us there)! We were elated!!!!

I was also there Sunday. The website and box office listed different opening times, the actual time being 12 while the website said 10. If anyone's looking for more information on how rush went I wrote up a little guide on my blog https://weekdayupdates.wordpress.com/2019/02/19/be-more-chill-rush-guide/ on what I gathered, hope it's helpful!

I'm pretty sure all box offices open at 12 on Sundays. I think the 10am website thing was prob just a flub
Rushed this show yesterday (2/20). Got to the theater around 9:45am and there were already about 30 people on the line. But still got 1 rush ticket. Balcony B23. All the rush is marked partial view but I thought the view was great! Most of the show is center stage and what you might miss isn't very important. A fine view.
“I rushed this morning and was shocked with how few people were there (even with the cold). I was the first one at 7:35. The next person was only a few min behind me. Next person not till 8:30. When the box office opened at 10am only 9 people were in line. I got orchestra A 103-104. Guess the squip zone isn’t selling (granted I didn’t fully get what the squip zone was but the girl behind me who’s seen it 3 times already both off broadway and in previews was super excited and explained it to me).”
Walked by and grabbed a rush ticket ($40) at 12:45p for the matinee. Orch C4! Board doesn’t show Troy as being in (yet). Agent said allrish was going to be full view, but couldn’t say where as “the computer picks the seat”.
Did you buy evening or matinee? We'll be there in a few weeks, also on a Wednesday, and are any going to rush for the matinee here and evening for Bands Visit.

Ouch, you're going to BV after BMC? Personally, I'd reverse the order. If you must go to BV, go to the matinee so you can get rid of that depressed feeling with BMC in the evening (can you tell I'm not a fan of BV?). From what I've seen, single seats are easy to get a good spot for - they can be "fillers". If you're a pair or more, get there early for best seat options.
Not sure who you are asking about in the posts (e.g. rushing for evening or matinee?). Like I noted, mine was for the matinee.
Things may change next week after the show opens, but with Spring Break season passing already, I don't see a huge uptake anytime soon. Have fun!
Or...keep the order of shows so you end with something beautiful and meaningful.

Thank you both. I completely missed that the post I was referring to did say matinee. My bad.
Honestly we're hoping for Hadestown on that evening but I'm not sure they'll have a rush policy. I love the music!
My logic for the order was that's I've noticed slightly less energy from the audience and performers at matinees. I figure since BMC is still fresh it'll hold up, but I'm a little worried about BV and just thinking that the evening show would be better since it's wrapping up. Plus the rush lines are much smaller for BV and I think we'll get better seats for the BMC matinee vs. the evening performance.

Kendale1974 - sounds perfectly fine. We all have our preferences... I also hope Hadestown has rush!
Also remember that each person can get 2 tickets, so you don't all need to be in the same line at the same time. Half of you (in case you're more than 2 ppl) can go to 1 line and half can go to the other :)
