This is such a great choice for that huge stage and so many exciting casting opportunities, Id love to see Kristin Bell as the Bakers Wife. Who would you guys like to see in this?
The show as written combined with the longer than usual intermissions at the Bowl will make for a well over three hour evening. I wonder if they will do some trims.

Usually 20 minutes. But INTO THE WOODS even with a ten minute intermission i think would push the limits of audience attention spans in that vast space. It’s not a theatre venue.

They trimmed 'Hairspray' of 'Cooties', 'Miss Baltimore Crabs', 'Velma's Revenge' and alot of dialogue. I remember it so vividly because it rendered Velma basically pointless in character.
Tina Fey as the Baker’s Wife Bryan Darcy James as the Baker Ashley Park as Cinderella Ann Harada as Jack’s Mom Karen Olivo as the Witch James Marsden as Cinderella’s Prince Aaron Lazar as Rapunzel’s Prince Jennifer Simard as The Stepmother
This has great potential... I wonder who will direct? Michael Arden did their Annie last year.
I would LOVE to see Jesse Tyler Ferguson as the Baker and Sutton Foster as the Baker's Wife. And there are great cameo possibilities for the Giant and the Narrator.
RE: running time, I believe every musical has been trimmed for the Hollywood Bowl, due to union restrictions for the LA Philharmonic. (I remember their Les Mis was particularly truncated)
DAME is right- they aren’t going to get people like Zeta Jones or Tina Faye signing on for this. It will be some TV names, some lesser Broadway talent, maybe one small role being recreated by the actor from the movie (Little Red) and a few unknowns in roles they are holding out for names but have to settle on at the last minute.

I have nothing whatsoever against Shoba Narayan, but I seriously doubt the Hollywood Bowl would cast someone as unknown as her (or even Ashley Park, for that matter) in such a big role. The Bowl tends to get big celebrities and/or well-established Broadway actors.

I don't know if CZJ could pull off the singing of the Witch or the silliness of Act I. I think Christine Baranski would be a marvelous witch! She's a TV name, a proven live performer, and can pull off both the wacky and the classy.

I wouldn't be opposed to Laura Benanti reprising her performance...
I'm so over this musical already. It's been produced WAY TOO MUCH. The music is gorgeous but so boring. People who aren't into musicals love the fairtale aspect but hate the music. I should know because i took my family to the recent tour. They all were mad at me for taking them lol
Well.. i hope they cast great actors who can also SING.

Hmm, if only there were some magical way for you to not have to see it anymore. Wait...there is...stop going to see it! Problem solved. You're welcome.
